Vindication for the 2006 Mavs and 2002 Sacramento Kings as well as any other team not mentioned.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-bettingprobe&prov=ap&type=lgns

I knew it was the refs and not the athletes. I was surprised to learn that the NBA head office was involved as well. But not too surprised. I think it's funny how Donaghy only said it was in 2002. yeah right. Cuban was right when he said that it was rigged behind the scenes that made him want to sell the team in 2006. Stern is trying to deny anything, but if Donaghy is being investigated by the FBI, the last thing he would want to do is lie and get into deeper shit. What would he have to gain by telling lies about Stern and the NBA head office. Given the seriousness of the situation there is no way the Donaghy is lying.

In referring to this part:

In one of several allegations of corrupt refereeing, Donaghy said he learned in May 2002 that two referees known as “company men” were working a best-of-seven series in which “Team 5” was leading 3-2. In the sixth game, he alleged they purposely ignored fouls made by opponent “Team 6” and made phantom calls putting its players at the free-throw line.
“Team 6” won the game and came back to win the series, the letter said

That was the western conference finals, and of all the teams...go figure:

L.A. Lakers 4, Sacramento 3
May 18: Sat., L.A. Lakers 106 at Sacramento 99
May 20: Mon., L.A. Lakers 90 at Sacramento 96
May 24: Fri., Sacramento 103 at L.A. Lakers 90
May 26: Sun., Sacramento 99 at L.A. Lakers 100
May 28: Tue., L.A. Lakers 91 at Sacramento 92
May 31: Fri., Sacramento 102 at L.A. Lakers 106
June 2: Sun., L.A. Lakers 112 at Sacramento 106*

Yea the Mavs & Heat Series a couple years ago was supposedly involved in this ordeal. Donaghy admitted that awhile back.
I just love how Stern was almost laughing about what Donaghy was telling the Feds. I hate Stern with a passion, the NBA would be so much better without him

Anyone with eyes would have known that the 2006 finals was rigged.

Here was Cubans take on selling the team.

Haha don't tell Geor! about that Finals, he lost $100. But the only other series mentioned in that report was from 2005, not 2006.

It had nothing to do with the Championship Series, as far as his comments go. I'm not denying that that Series wasn't fixed, though.

Why even post? The "real" NBA fans of this board won't comment about this for fear that they might realize that their favorite sport has been and always will be a sham.

Yes, I'm calling out Jose.

There's no Honor in the NBA. And I'm talking about the difference between right from wrong. And the "fans" are just as guilty for just accepting it. Example: Star Player Priviledges. How is it fair that a star player will break the RULES, yes there actually are rules in Basketball, and never foul out?

I was suprised to read that Kobe in game 2 was in "foul trouble" early? Are you fucking kidding me? Kobe is never in foul trouble!!! He could have 4 fouls before the half and the refs would let him get away with the dirtiest of street ball. WHY??? YOUR FUCKING MONEY.

And you fucking monkey's just accept it, and your morals just go straight to Hell.

I was just adding my Mavs fan perspective. I'm sure things just didn't abrubtly stop after 2005. Cubans comments make more sense now.

This part kinda takes away the knot in my stomach every time I think about the 2006 finals. Its good to know that people are starting to realize that there is something wrong with NBA officiating. It can't be taken from the record books though. :(

Those one-sided trends are seen too often, and all they do is fuel speculation. Don't think that Mark Cuban's mind isn't reeling right now. Miami was the tougher team in '06 when the Heat won the title, but in light of Donaghy's charges, how much different does that series look now?

Jerry Stackhouse was suspended for a pivotal Game 5 because of a tough foul on Shaq, who weighs as much as a small aircraft carrier. And in that Game 5, Dwyane Wade got calls that made Michael Jordan jealous. Wade went to the foul line 25 times. Dallas, as a team, went 24 times. You also can't help but wonder how much Cuban and Stern's terse relationship influenced that series.

but wait there is more if you watched game 4 this year and watch lakers get fouled and no call but touch the celtic and free throws are promised. I like the celtics since back in the day but i want this to be a straight up series not something that looks staged. Somehow i see this going to game 7 and they let both teams play it out but even then I doubt stern and the gang let that happen.
