This looked really good until I read it was about plants emitting a gas that was making people commit suicide. Mark Wahlberg's movies are usually pretty good so I have my fingers crossed that this one will be as well. The trailer is awesome.

The Sixth Sense was great. The rest of Shamalalamalamayan's movies have sucked balls, imo.

Yeah, I had it on my Netflix just because it was a new release. I wasn't expecting much at all. I thought that the vampires were awesome. They were some of the most disturbing looking characters I have seen in a movie. We really enjoyed it.
A while back, we ordered Black Xmas... We got the original instead of the remake. It was actually pretty good too.

Just got back from seeing this. I probably wouldn't recommend it and I usually like any sorta horror/sci-fi movie. I was disappointed but don't want to give away anything so I'll wait a while to post my thoughts :(

My least favorite of the M. Night Shamalyanana movies. Thank goodness I got to stare at Mark Wahlberg for 2 hours. That made up for it. :)

I didn't think it was that great of a movie... alot of drama and good suspense leading up to nothing great.

Yeah I heard it was global warming propaganda…
What a waist… I was hoping for a good scary movie or something that I don’t have to be lectured to during…

I ruined the Sixth Sense for myself when I figured out early on that he was dead. It was one of those things where I'm just cruising along and came up with the thought "Oh, Ok so he is dead already". Then I get to the end and that was the big suprise and I was like WHAT? It was a good movie though.
Agree on the rest of his movies. I liked Signs until the very end, it could have been a lot better by changing the last ten minutes.

This fucking guy must suffer from premature ejaculation with amazing foreplay abilities.
His build up is top notch, only for him to dump his load on the floor before he even crawls on the bed.
I wanted to see this, but ne'ermind!

EXACT same thing happened to me. It was actually really a let down because of that.

Same here. The simple fact that aliens went to a place (naked, no less) that is 2/3rds battery acid to them (water), was seriously stupid. However, I really enjoyed the family's story and the acting before that.

I may have to watch it just for John Lequizamo. I am glad that we chose to hang out by the pool instead of going to see this movie on Wade's b-day.

LMAO at Sean's analysis. I've enjoyed so many of his movies but agree that it's a great lead up to a disappointing ending and unfortunately he has a pattern of it. The Sixth Sense.... I own the DVD and probably only watched it twice because the twist at the end is so dramatic it ruined the whole movie for me. The Village is also the same. Probably the only one I watch regularly (if you can call it that) is Signs. Funny, it's also the only movie I own where I try to avoid watching the last ten minutes of LOL!

So I thought this movie might be good... I was wrong. I didn't like it or the fact that they kill kids in this movie by shooting them in the head with a shotgun!!! The movie had no plot and didn't come together very well... IMO!

I thought it was a bit slow at times, bt I liked it. The killing the kids didn't bother me at all because if something that crazy were happening in real life, kids would not be immune to getting hurt or killed. It happens, the movie depicting it made it seem a bit more realistic. The fear people were feeling that is.
Had a good plot, a bit vague, but that's what M Night Shamalayn (Sp?)always does....
Maybe the planet will one day strke back at us.... Who knows.....

I wouldn't say the entire movie wasn't good. There were some good parts and bad.
At least we know there will be a second one. The people jumping off buildings and people shooting themself in the head with the cops gun freaked me out!!!

Yeah it definitley had a shock factor to it at some parts. I guess you would have to be one to "Believe" something like that COULD happen or else it wouldn't be scary at all........
Plus being born in NYC and raised in Philadelphia I love how his movies are always in Philly:)

Heard it was even worse than that God-awful "Lady in the Water," which seems almost impossible since that movie sucked 24k balls.
Which leads me to believe M. Night might be out of truly imaginative/good ideas...

Seen part of that movie. Luckily I rented it. I kinda figured it out about 30 minutes into it, and since it was boring, I fast forward to the end and saved 1 hour of my life.

What clued you off 30 minutes into the movie that it was in fact taken place in the present and not the past or are you talking about the crazy dude being the creature?
