He is really having a MVP year so far. I've read all the stories about him and how he turned things around. It is such a great and inspiring story. I hope he does well for many more years to come.

If he can make it through the August heat here, he'll have a chance. It's tough if you're not used to it (especially pitchers), and can tire you out. I wish him luck, and I'll see at the All Star break where he is.

sorry, not with a .500 team. If the Rangers somehow make the playoffs, then we can talk.

If he keeps it up, it won't matter what the team accomplishes. There has been way too much press and 2 player of the month awards already. The numbers are just too big to ignore. If 2 guys numbers are close and one of them is on a winning team then yes. But even if he slows some, he will not be denied. Unless he misses some time, his totals will be astonishing.

Now, big studley...let's play nice this time :)

If Milton keeps tearing it up, they will have to pitch to Josh. Gotta love Milty!

There are plenty of players that have put up big numbers that have finished 2nd in the voting. I don't see an MVP from a 3rd place team with a .500 record. Not to mention we haven't even hit the All Star break. We still have the 2nd half slump to look forward to.

I'm from NC and have been here for 7 years. I played against Millwood in high school and my brother played against Hamilton. At that time, I was coaching select kids from 9 high schools and talking with scouts everywhere for my kids. Hamilton was "the guy" coming out of school. Many labeled him the best prospect "ever" from the state. Everyone knows his story since then. For those of us that knew him in high school, his numbers are not a surprise at all. This is what we expected from him all along. I am thrilled that he has a) turned his life around, b) is playing for the Rangers, c) is making a difference, and d) is about to get paid. Good for him, and I hope he continues his run -- for the Rangers -- for years to come.

Right now he's a shoe in but when the season is over it'll be between him, Dan Uggla and Manny.

Uggla is NL. If things keep going the way they are going, it'll be between Uggla and Utley in the NL.

As for Josh Hamilton or anyone for that matter, way too early to be talking MVP.

We're seeing the "potential". The question is, does he have the durability and longevity it takes to make it a full season?

I hope he ends up a Yankee :D However, I'd put money that he will be a Ranger for a while. Remember, Nolan Ryan in in charge now. I really don't think things will be the way they always have with the Rangers and I'm pretty sure Nolan had that conversation before taking the job.

Have you ever seen a Most Valuable Player award given to a last place (division) team with a sub-.500 record though?

You are correct, Sir. Although I didn't check back to see hoe the Rangers ended up that year. If numbers are somewhat close, the guy on the playoff team get's the nod. If a guys numbers blow everyone elses away, he can't be denied. We will have to see if that's the case with Hamilton.

Hamilton is fine, even hitting .315 or so. They said he was playing ill yesterday, maybe reflecting the 0-5. Bradley @.340, is a force, too. It's just such a long season, that any MVP or Triple Crown talk is premature, at this point.

I think he is saying that he was trying to get us to remember A-Rod and it took someone (you) 2 days to point to the A-Rod example.
