This just in from the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell:

Commissioner Roger Goodell notified Adam Jones today that, effective immediately, he may participate in organized team activities with the Dallas Cowboys, including training camp and preseason games. In a letter to Jones, Commissioner Goodell wrote that a final determination on his reinstatement for the 2008 regular season will be made by September 1. Commissioner Goodell told Jones that his continued participation in the NFL depends on demonstrating that he can conduct himself in a lawful and reliable manner. Jones will be expected to continue the personal conduct program established for him by the NFL and the Cowboys and to avoid further adverse involvement with law enforcement.

What do you all think about Jerry's latest comments about the possibility of him filling in at WR?

I think it's awesome.

He can already catch a deep ball, he does kickoff returns. He's faster than just about anyone in the league. He and TO together on the field will be unstoppable. If the Cowboys can give Romo some pass protection this year, they are going to have a monster season.

And you KNEW the guy was going to be reinstated. Jerry Jones, the big daddy owner and basically DRIVER of the NFL, is not going to be embarrassed by making this huge deal for him and then not getting to play him.

True, but I didn't think it would be this soon. I figured late this season, possibly next season before it happened.

I'm on the fence about the WR talk. I don't know much about his pre-NFL history. But typically, CBs aren't WRs for a reason, and that reason is the lack of ability to consistently catch a ball.

Not only that, but learning the routes and timing and getting to where they are second-nature and to where your QB feels confident throwing to you can take a lot of time and some serious dedication. I'm not saying that a DB's job is easy at all, but it's definitely different. Now, if they want to use him mainly as a deep threat, that's sounds smart to me. And knowing both sides of the ball would surely give him a slight edge at either position.

Not technically. He's just allowed to practice now, and will be allowed to play pre season games.

Don't worry. They will win more than 1 playoff game this year. Besides, the Colts won't do shit this year. :p

It has worked in flashes with Hester, could work with Pac-Man also.

He's faster than just about anyone in the league. He and TO together on the field will be unstoppable. Not trying to be funny here, but is he seriously that fast? I watched him play plenty of times and he never seemed to have that real blazing speed to be considered an elite speedster in the NFL.

I think that there are more corners that can catch the ball and ALOT less WR that like to tackle or be hit often.

I'm perfectly fine with it in flashes. If Jason Garrett designs a few plays around him or something like they did with Hester, I can see it working. But having him step in as a f/t or p/t receiver, I just don't know.

Absolutely. You give him 10 yards or so, and you're fucked.

Well I cant say much about the colts last year. :o But I do agree that the cowboys should move deeper in the playoffs. Really with the team they have they should make it to the superbowl.

Man T.O. is badass. Yes he drops some here and there but whatever you do dont remember the touchdown catches and the badass cathes that he did last year.

All they are going to do is send him deep and use his punt/kick return skills with WR screens and bubble screens, think Brian Westbrook.

This is the key...it should be situational. There's a lot more to playing WR than lining up and running down the field.

T.O. is a hell of a player he has good size and strength but only if he could catch the ball more times than not, I would like to see T.O. as a cornerback and see how he does

His numbers weren't anything stellar last year. However, the same year he lead the league in drops, he also lead the league in touchdowns. ;)

That will never happen. Too much ego to go on the defensive side.

Just because he's a good WR doesn't mean he'd be a good Corner. Not sure why everyone thinks that WR and CB are so interchangeable when they are not. Good size and strenght don't translate into good CB. I'd be willing to bet money he'd suck ass at CB. When I played wideout, not many people could keep up or catch me. Then I got asked to play CB, and I got smoked. Big difference in running from someone and trying to follow someone. Big difference.

Yep. I did fairly well at both positions, however they are two completely different positions.
