I went to see Joe Cocker and Steve Miller last night. My first concert ever. Good shit. Joe Cocker can still sing, and jump. Haha, I thought the old bastard was going to bust a hip or something. Hearing him sing "A Little Help from My Friends," live, in person, was fucking awesome; I grew up watching The Wonder Years with my dad, so it has a lot of good sentimental value attached to it.

Steve Miller kicked ass, too. I wasn't too fond of some of the songs they played, but the music was good, and they played all of my favorites, which more than made up for the others. One thing that I thought was that they dragged out a couple of the songs ("Fly Like an Eagle" for one) too long; it's not like they don't get enough airplay on the radio. Sheesh. The only thing I didn't like was the clown that got up and started rapping about staying free (I didn't listen to the lyrics too closely; I was kind of laughing and shaking my head and mumbling something to myself) and I think it had some political crap in it, towards the end of the very long version of "Fly Like an Eagle."

Still, Joe Cocker is still fucking awesome, and Steve Miller still fucking rocks.

[x] Went to concert
[x] Had a fucking blast
[x] Sat next to beautiful chick
[x] Talked to beautiful chick
[x] Watched as beautiful chick got warmed up by Joe Cocker and Steve Miller
[x] Drove chick back to her car in McKinney
[x] Got specific directions to take me back to the highway
[x] Got "I'm sure I'll see you around," as if her giving me directions on how NOT to follow her to her house wasn't driving home the point that I'm not getting laid tonight
[ ] Got laid
[ ] Got blown
[ ] Got a kiss
[ ] Got a hug
[x] Got "dap."
[x] Not a closer

Haha

The "i'm sure i'll see you around" was your que for "Can I get your number" or some other line to figure out a way to see her again outside of parking across the street with binos. Fail.

LOLz, I was just fucking around about that. All of it's true, but I didn't expect or pursue anything because it's a friend's recently-NEXT'd woman. Haha.

Give him a pass. It's hard to get a number when a chick gives you some attention and you fill your draws with DNA.
