saw this on the wiki page for super troopers:

Prequel:
At the 2006 Comic-Con Convention in San Diego, California, comedy troupe Broken Lizard revealed that a prequel for the film is in the works. It will take place in the 1970's and will follow the fathers of the main characters in the original film.

shitty thing is that was back in 2006, i guess it did not go through :(

Dude, movies aren't made over night and even once all the pre-production shit is handled (finding producers, casting, etc) which could take a year or longer depending on the success of finding people to pick this up, you have the actual shoot which could take 6 months or longer, then you have post-production which could take several months. 2 years after announcing something isn't long in the movie world. *edit* and I see Blake has provided the necessary link to prove my theory. ;)
