Flipping through the channels, I just came across Jimmy Buffet performing on Letterman.
He fucking sucks.
How does he have so many fans? And are ANY of them under 40?

Agreed. Possibly the worst "popular" performer ever. And that is truly saying something.

I agree that he's not good and incredibly overrated, but I could go down a list that includes most of today's popular music that is far worse than Buffet.

I agree, but there comes a time when you need to hang up the mic. Buffet missed it years ago.

My wife's 31 and loves the guy. She grew up in Pittsburgh smoking dope though, I'm sure that has something to do with it.

<- under 40 parrot head
Though I do agree his voice barely maintains key, and the music is quite simple. It's more about a frame of mind than technically perfect guitar.

tailgating at one of his concerts will make you fail a drug test.
seriously tho, that was the only fun part of the concert. the concert itself blew chunks.

first saw Buffet in 76. Couldn't fill a 2000 seat hall. Last time i saw him was in the mid 80's....and he drew vacuum then.Changes in Latitudes was the last thing he did worth a shit. Now ya got a buncha old fat hippies & their wedge ass wives, trying to "relive the 70's"
yeech

I think a tailgate party at one of his concerts would be awesome.

Under 40 Buffet fan here. I wouldn't spend $150 to see him perform but I'll visit his clubs and buy a t-shirt.

My in-laws went to see him at pizza hut park in frisco and they said there were shit load of people in their 20's. Mostly drunk though and I would to if I saw buffet.

We went to his concert in frisco a couple of years ago. I've never seen so many shit faced people in all my life in one place at the same time, and it was a scary thought that many of them would slip behind the wheel after the concert. It was truly a big beer party, and from that standpoint kind of fun. I only had one beer since I was the DD. And the singing was ok too.

More about the goofball scene, than real quality music.
I've been to several Buffett concerts, and it's always fun as hell. Had many good times to that silly music, and that's probably why I enjoy it.
He's also written some pretty good books too. Where Is Joe Merchant? is my favorite.

Fuck you.
I like Jimmy Buffet. However, I will agree that everything after Changes in Latitudes went down hill.
