5200 miles. VERY comfortable ride! It sits lower than my ZX6R and my balls aren't getting crushed! Woot! It seems very docile compared to my last bike as well. The ZX6R was geared down a tooth in front, which I think made it feel much quicker than this one. Well, plus a PC, filter and full exhaust didn't hurt either I guess. The GSXR is much more sluggish off the line, but I think that was just gearing. The suspension seems much more forgiving as well, but I never really had mine set up or adjusted on the old bike. Overall, I'm liking it, but this is all based on about a 15-minute ride from Richardson. The only complaint I have so far is my left shin seems to bump the point on the plastics on that side. I may be able to adjust something to help that though. Here are a couple pics. It's REALLY clean!

Next to my 05 R6 "I really dont care for the new R6" the 06-08 gixxer would be my next choice i like the way the feel or should i say it feels identical to my R6 going into corners.

I have, they kinda suck on the street, but they are dead sexy. Now on the track, thats a different story. I'd love one. As far as looks go, that suzuki is a sharp looking scooter.

ok, but the '08 Triumph 675 (675cc) has less power and isn't as quick as a '08 gsxr 600. using your logic shouldn't it be the other way around....

Haha, meant to say 600-750 on the 06-up. I just love the torque that the literbikes make. I've owned several of them and would hate to go back to something with less power.

I know! I did a 5th gear roll on my ZX10 vs that bike in 3rd gear and walked the fuck out of it when big Justin was riding it.... :D BUT it was fast as fuck for a 600-class bike! If you gear that '06 like the 636 was, it will feel exactly the same if not faster!

Try moving the rearsets around, they are adjustable from the factory. That's one of the pluses to the gixxers, helps a lot when your 6'4".

went and tried to get me a white/silver '08 600 today and couldn't find one. Guy at the dealership I was refered to told me he could try to get one for me, but not for lower than $10.8K, and I can't ever see paying that high for a 600cc bike when you can get a '07 liter for less than $10K otd. I told him I'd do it for $10K (which is still too high) and his boss wouldn't do that. Hell, I even said I'd take the white/blue (ever so popular color) for $9.8K otd and he wouldn't do that. Over on gixxer.com I see people getting them for under $9500 otd all the time. Guess I need to call farther out, or try a different color scheme. Found one of the all black models, but not sure if I really want something all black.
So, all in all, my day off has sucked since I planned on having a new bike today and now I don't. :( Would actually be my first "sport" bike too, since all my others have been an upright seating position like my FZ1.

for '07 they had a regular blue/white, and then the blue/black, red/black/white, and all black.

I'll be making a post when I get back from vacation and set things up. To bad summer is already here and it's f'n hot out.
Mind sharing some of that info??? My friend is looking for a 08' gsxr 750
My cousin went to Texarkana and saved about 1500-2000, he dosen't remember the name of the dealer, he said it was near the border of texas and arkansas. He said he went to oklahoma that my other friend went to and he tried to dick him around.
But he said the dealer in texarkana was really nice and easy to deal with, if he remembers the dealer I'll post it. He said to search suzuki dealers and you should be able to find it, he said he called ahead and got somewhat set up and the guy flat said he makes 500 on each bike no more no less and when he got there, there was no haggle and he was in and out.
here is the info

not true. all you're saving is tax, which you then have to pay when you register the bike in texas. and tax is not a couple thousand.

Have you had a chance to call yet?
Just talked to my cousin again he said he saved about 1200 becasue he bought a 07 when they first came out, he said the guy is now running ads for 07 litre bikes for 9800.
and by the way 89stangGT that bike was bought in Texarkana, which is in TEXAS. I understand the oklahama thing on taxes but you pay that regardless, the base price is over 1k cheaper.

I'm still lost as to why you would have to go to Oklahoma to get a bike cheaper, or drive out to texarkana? They all pay the same cost for the bike, so why can't you just just take that otd price to your local dealer and save yourself a drive?
also, make sure you're looking at an out the door price and not just the cost of the bike. Sure, someone can say they'll sell you a bike $1500 cheaper than the other guy, or under cost, but he can easily then make his money back with other fees.

Well Im the one that went to Texarkanas, In the dallas area the cheapest I found OTD price was 12,200 I drove to texarkana and paid 10,800 OTD (saved 1400) Its on the texas side so its already taged and inspected. So maybe 3 hr drive total and i saved 1,400 sounds like a deal to me.

well I hope that answers your question.
so you are seriously gonna say you dont see how one person will sell a product cheaper than someone else? have you never shopped albertsons/walmart etc... ?
so why can't you just just take that otd price to your local dealer and save yourself a drive?
I missed this part, 89stangGT what dealer do you know you can take someone else's price into and they will just say oh ok here you go?? That I know of bike dealers don't match pricing.

well obviously you don't do much shopping around when looking for a bike. I used to sell bikes and can guarantee you there's a local dealership out there that will tell you to bring them your lowest quote and they'll beat it, as long as it's not already below dealer cost, or they'll just try to beat the quote you came in the door with. But, I guess you don't know about any of that... or you could just know the dealer cost of the bike vs retail and try to work a deal from there. ie..cost on a '08 gsxr 600 is $8100 and retail is $9399.

to some people its not worth bullshitting with local dealers and going back and forth getting prices and headaches when they have a gaurenteed deal for the same price in a few hours drive. and no I dont try to price match, I just buy from the one with the right price from the start, why do I want to go argue and discuss back and forth with people wasting time when I can just go pick it up and go.

so how much did you get that 450R for?
so how much did you get that 450R for?
too damn much probably, but not by alot, I didn't shop other Kawi's, I didn't want to, I was impatient on that purchase and wanted it then so I didn't give a shit, but to answer that question I paid 6800.00, retail was 7399.00. But what I did do was price a couple of other brands and yamaha wanted the same amount for an 06 or 07 (think 06) 450R so it was still a good deal, I also checked prices on Honda's etc and mine was a better quad for the money. But I have yet to meet someone that has gotten one cheaper than 6800 ( I have ran into a few other people with the same quad ), besides it is an 08 model that I got in 11/07 there wasnt much bargaining there, but my other vehicles in my sig I got for steals. Also when I got my quad, I didn't have my truck so I was limited on traveling to pick one up.
I know you are reaching for a comeback on how much I paid for the quad, so I went ahead and gave you all the info you could use, so say what you want, just take it for what it is, I know people that got bikes cheaper by getting out of DFW and without haggling, face it... let it go.
