This sucks, So I go riding today, and I start smelling this awful burn plastic. I stop, pull over, and see that the exhaust is melting the plastics on my R1. That pissed me off.

My question is, How does that happen out of nowhere? I haven't really checked it but do you think my exhaust somehow came loose and it's now touching the plastics because of that? Or maybe the plastics 'warped" with the heat today?

What do you think? Either way I'm a little pissed right now :(

It's not realy noticable from afar but damn it!

Rant off!!

has the bike been down before, does it have the original plastics on it?

It was down a few years ago, and most plastics are original. I guess it's coming apart after a few years....

Chances are the bodywork is loose or missing some fasteners and the wind is pressing the bodywork to the midpipe at speed.
