What is your favorite all time vampire film. I think Interview with the Vampire has to be mine, with Blade and Underworld close behind.
As far as TV I love the current CBS show Moonlight and liked Buffy and Angel.

Bram Stoker's Dracula, followed by The Lost Boys are my 2 absolute favorites. 30 Days of Night is pretty good and the best thats come out in a long time. If you like true horror and not main stream suspense films labeled horror, then you may like "Near Dark". Underworld is entertaining because Kate Beckinsale is so fucking fine and I love Sophia Myles is hot as well. But over all its not that good. Thought they had a great idea/concept but didn't deliver.
The Blade films are entertaining popcorn flicks. Well, the first 2 are anyway.
Interview with a Vampire is pretty good and remains somewhat true to the book, however Queen of the Damned was fairly shitty and way off from the book. I can watch it when i'm bored and hard up for a vampire flick.
You can't go wrong with Bela Lugosi's original Dracula.

I have Near Dark, but haven't watched it yet. I was lukewarm about Queen of the Damned, way too different from the book, and just not very good IMO.
I have to rent Lost Boys and check it out this week.

Interview with a Vampire is by far the best one made. Lost boys was a kids flick, and Bram Stroker's Dracula was a fricking love story. Blade and Underworld are action flicks with weak story lines. BTW - Only South Africans speak english.

It's Stoker, not Stroker. Sounds like you need to watch it again to so carelessly dub it a "love story" when the cinematography, acting performances, direction, and character development blow the Anne Rice rip off out of the water. But to each his own.

Like I care about spelling the writer's name when IMO the movie sucked. Obviously we have different views on cinematography, acting, direction, and character development. The movie failed to sway me as it did you. Hell, I damn near fell asleep watching it. Like you said, "To each his own".

Just finished watching Lost Boys, it was alright, but definitely not in my top 5. Maybe if I had watched it when it came out in the 80's it would have been better, but really didn't think too much of it.

If you like Sophia Myles, check out Moonlight on CBS Friday nights, she's in it and it's also a vampire show.

She got naked in "Art School Confidential". Let me be the first to tell you, very disappointing. I like a little meat on my woman but she just didn't look good chubby naked in the flick. I'm hoping she put on some pounds or something for the role because she just looked bad. It was a sad day for me.

Watched Near Dark yesterday, gotta say I liked it allot more than I did Lost Boys.
Also, notable mention goes to I Am Legend, even though in the movie it doesn't mention that the "creatures" are vampires, the book clearly shows they are. Great movie IMO.
