Pulled the tank on my 300ex and found this crap on the bottom
Im guessing its rust?

Any ideas for cleaning the tank out completely?
(And sealing it, or something to keep it from happening again?)

No wonder it started running so shitty:o
The screen on the valve was pretty gummed up with crap too...

The tank on my old CB1000 Custom and my V45 Magna was 5000000 times worse than that. I bought the KREEM tank liner and followed the instructions to a T and it worked great on both. I think the kit runs about 30 bucks at most motorcycle shops. Just make sure that you are VERY VERY careful not to spill any of the chemicals on anything thats painted if you want it to stay painted...it will totally destroy the finish if you do. I repainted both of my tanks so it didn't matter.

Cool, thanks guys ill give it a shot.

Just glancing online, I dont think I can swing the $200 for a plastic tank(or a new OEM steel tank:o)

Ill give it a try, thanks
Im not too worried about paint, itll be under the plastics, and I can always paint it again, but thanks for the heads up.

why would you even consider a new tank? That rust problem is so tiny I can't believe you would even consider it. Get the kit and fix the tank. Easiest repair in the world.

I kinda figured it might be a recurring problem, and didnt want to deal with rust again:o
Shit if its that easy though, fuck a new tank :)
