In case some of yall missed my thread last week I'll catch you up to speed. To start with I had this house built last year and haven't lived in it very long to begin with. Of course that hasn't kept me from tearing into it and making it the home I want it to be. I'm the type of person that once I get an idea to do something I just can't help myself. If I try to push that idea out of my head it just eats at me until I follow through with my plan. I got my latest idea just 3 weeks ago and it is a reality already. Here are a couple pics of what my house use to look like.

Here is the almost finished product. I still need to plant flowers and add some mulch in the flower bed and around the trees. Let me know what yall think.

It's alot of work, but I'm pleased with the out come. The retaining wall doesn't look big in pics but it still took 2 cubic yards of top soil, which weighs 4k pounds, to fill it. I did all the back filling my self and will be doing all the landscaping. I also put up the railing on the front porch. I have to give props to my mason as he got the job done in two days and didn't cut any corners. He laid a 3in thick concrete pad complete with rebar for the wall. On the right side of the retaining wall where its the tallest and will have the most presure on it he actually built two rock walls with a 3 inch gap inbetween them. He then filled this gap with concrete and at the same time created holes for drainage. After I saw him do all this work I actually felt kind of bad for working him over on his bid lol.

Yeah the jury is still out on the rocks around the trees. I placed them there because I had some extra's and wanted to see what it looks like. Whats funny is I think the rocks around the trees look better at night time with the lighting than during the day.

The rocks are OK - I think I'd leave it at 1 level instead of 2. All in all it looks pretty good. Good job!

mortar the stone in on the tree beds, that'll match your theme up nice IMO.
The big bed looks excellent.

I think it looks great. I was thinking about changing up the columns on our porch as well. It would not be nearly as nice as yours though, but still motivating. It was really nice to begin with as well.....
I like the rocks around the trees. I think it will make the difference with mulch and plants/flowers.
Are those trees a lil too close together?
