That would be the clencher. If Rush were with those two other bands it would be the trifecta of gawd awful worst screechy bitch music ever.

True! Cheap Trick also has the 3 original members, unlike the other bands listed.

Journey had two albums (in my mind) that were stellar: "Infinity" and "Evolution".
The fact that they came out before most board members were even born, may alter their opinion of Journey. The fucker with the big nose could flat out sing, and Neal Schon was no slouch on the guitar, either.

They do "OK", but I remember them with Roger Fischer (guitarist), that collaborated (and slept with) Ann back then. He was greatness.

stellar???
don't think so. They sold a buttload of albums, true.
McDonalds sells a buttload of cheesburgers too.
Steve Perry = nails on a chalk board.
but Neal Schon was a decent guitar player. Remember H.S.A.S. ?

By "stellar" I meant popular, by '70's standards. They were a huge arena band in the day, but you're old enough to know that. ;) Those two albums are what gave them their new "identity"- Perry and Greg Rollie were new to the band, which had been around since about '73 or so.

Same here, although I bought lawn tickets for this one.
<--- Saw Journey around 86. Sure, they're not as good as some hard rockin' devil music but they have some good older stuff. I still think Separate Ways is a great song.

You're obviously mistaken. Rush is a badass band. Probably one of the most talented bands to come from the 80's. I know their singers voice is odd, but other than in Tom Sawyer, I think it works pretty well.

I had a friend that was a die hard Rush fan. So much so, that he even took me to see them at Starplex in the 90's. He's a cool guy and I respected his opinion, so I went.
Fucking god awful. I understand that there are some spectacular musicians in that band, but together they make mud.

I'd go just to see Neal Schon. Such a bad ass on guitar. I think Jeff Scott Soto has replaced Steve on vocals. If so, he was great with Malmsteen. Should be a great show. Old Journey kicks ass. Music of today ain't half what it used to be.

Journey's first album, Look Into the Future, had Neal Schon and Greg Rawlie fresh out of Santana, and is a very cool album Steve Perry wasn't on that album. Steve Perry turned them commercial and made them successful, but that first album was pretty jammy and cool.
