HDMI vs. Component

I have a 50'' DLP and it is 720p is HDMI going to be an improvement over component or is it just a waste of money? My 360 has HDMI and RGB, I know that HDMI is a better source but is it mainly for 1080 or should I upgrade?

Spend 6 bucks for the HDMI cord, it might be a waste for 720p but it tidies things up and lets face it, you wasted 6 bucks on worse things.

does it look better or something? never knew what the difference was. yes i have an HD TV so i will be able to tell the difference. if there is any.

cheapest i ever seen HDMI cable was $40 , until recently they were in the 80 dollar range.

My 360 came with and supports hdmi cable. Do the earlyer 360's not?

I have a 52" Samsung 1080p and the HDMI cable made all the difference in the world, made everything look like you could reach out and touch it, but not sure how much of a difference it will make on a 720p, but i imagine you would still be able to tell a difference. If you have an extra 50 bucks laying around go for it, if not then i wouldnt worry about it....

i would do it. i dont know what quality of component cable you have, but with HDMI its no longer a concern since HDMI is a digital interface. plus component cables + audio cables are a lot more bulky than 1 single HDMI.

I went in there 3 weeks ago to buy a sata cable. They wanted $21.99 fing dollars for it. I walked out and proceeded to Frys and bought 2 for $4.99 a pop LOL. I also price checked their pressured air which was 11.99$ a can. At Frys i bought 3 for $9.99. :D
