Heh. This used to be the guest bathroom.

Whoever owned this place before us remodled everything... With contractor grade absolute cheap shit. We've got light fixtures in this house that literally cost $6 at Home Depot. Stupid fuckers. Anyway, never took any pics of the bath before we started tearing it down, but everything is being replaced. Not going to be hugely fancy, just a ped sink, metal tub(I hate those plastic pos'es), tile and beadboard and new water closet. Gotta love owning a 30 year old house.

Looks like fun :)
Remember to put that waterproof board in behind the tub and around the tub walls.

Definetly. We're also replacing pretty much of the interior doors(jambs and all) right now too. Which means we're also replacing all of the moulding with 3 inch wood. It'll be nice when we reach a stopping point in about 2-3 more years. :(

We already bought the tile. Then took it back to Home Depot becuase she changed her mind. Now my back has hurt all week. Damn it.

Thats what I did to mine. Ripped out cabinets, a wall, everything to the studs, including the ceiling. Good thing I had an extra bathroom because it took me a while to finish it. Looks great now!!!

I have a couple of samples, of course by the time I make up my mind, it will no longer be stocked.
We are redoing the shower, raising the ceiling, new walls (they did not use cemet board, argh!)New fixtures, New lighting, pulling up the carpet (whoever thought carpet in a bath was a good idea should be shot.). We are also thinking on putting in a different tub. I swear the builder put in the smallest cheapest tub they could, in the master bath no less.
Sorry your back hurts....lift with the legs. :D

Been there, done ALL that. Our old house was built in 1959. The people who had it before us never fixed a single thing the right way. The bathrooms and kitchen were the worst of all. We put so much work in that house, but it payed off like a slot machine when it was time to sell.

We're having the tub/plumbing/and backer installed by a pro that is a friend. I'm better at tearing shit down than putting it back together. ;) Plus, taking the old tub out about killed me, can't imagine putting a new steel one in. We're going to try and make a ton of progress on the house this year.

Man, the ones that are nice are pretty damn pricey. I'd love to do one, but I only see us being in this house 10-15 years. Never know though. Once we're done with this remodel we'll probably never want to move.

They really are not that much more than a tub plus installation. Hooking one of these up is a lot easier. ;)
Edit: and like on Flip that House,
they say...cost, $3500, added value, $8000
Bathrooms and kitches will increase the homes value more than other rooms

We paid $80 for a brand new metal tub. LOL, little difference.
