SHould be easy on internal walls the tough part is if it is external with firestops and insulation

since we mounted ours above the fireplace we had to go through 2 studs to the left. We ended up just cutting the sheet rock on either side of the studs.. then drilling through the stud and running the wires then repaired the wall..

(I have cleaned up the wiring and put a backing on the "AV stand")

You're fishing wires through the wall to the bedroom behind the TV?

been a few years since I did any attic rat work, but wouldn't it be easiest to run the wires from the components through the wall, up to the attic and then back down to the TV? Drill, spade bit and a fish tape would be all you need. Maybe get some cheap speaker wire to tape onto the cable coming into the outlet behind the components and pull it up. You could substitute the fish tape for an inexpensive drain auger and cut the end off.

Thanks! I like it :)

its not hard at all if you can fix the wall.. getting the texture to match is the hard part.. just cut a square out of the rock and put it back when you are done

damn that looks clean. u make it sound hard tough

Would also upgrade to hdmi cables. Not as space consuming.

if you get an a/v receiver that upconverts all video feeds and outputs HDMI, then you only need to feed one cable + 1 power cable.

onkyo 705 or 805 will upconvert rca video, svideo, component video to 1080p and send it across an hdmi. many others will to, i just list the onkyo cause its about the cheapest that will.

also if you MIGHT EVER put surround sound or anything extra go ahead and purchase the wires or cables needed and just do it all at the same time.. MUCH easier that way...

Sweet jesus, I think I'd break my neck having to look up that high if I wanted to watch TV anytime.

nah it isnt bad at all honestly... the akwardness gets a little getting used to but not more then about 20 mins of watching tv... plus there is a cool factor that well out weighs the pain :)
