Got lucky, found it showing early at Harkins tonight at 8:00. Great popcorn movie, and make sure to hang out for the scene after the credits.

Going tonight
It and the next Indiana Jones movie will probably be the summer movies to see this year...

I can't stand that shit. They ought to just start the scenes after movie fades to black, then throw up the credits.
Still going to see movie tonight. :D

i was wishing Tarance Howard would have suited up as warmachine. All the suit needed with the minigun, missle launcher, and wrist mounted multi-gun, dammit.
great movie.

Shaddup Ryan. I thought it was badass. Even the hotrod as inspiration for the paint on the suit. Fairly forgettable, but fun and what I went in expecting to see.
Random chick at red carpet-"Hey Tony, remember me?"
Walks by without even looking "Sure don't."

Happened so quick I didn't even see her. That deadpan response from him was priceless though. Once of the better portrayals of a "playboy" type guy I've ever seen done on the silver screen.

Saw it over the weekend. I thought it was very cool. I could have done with a little less background story/build up and more ass kicking, but I was very pleased. The SHIELD reference was cool and I like the fact that they left it wide open for another one. The deuce coupe was a bad bitch. The flame job was weak, but it had a purpose. Didn't stay for after the credits. Someone pm me what I missed.

That movie fuckin' rocked! I loved pretty much every second of it. Jeff Bridges and Gwen Paltrow were fantastic as well.
One thing to note that took me a while to get a hold of plot-wise: given the context, it was easy to write off the "10 Rings" bad guys as Islamic extremists or something. From what I understand, they're more than that. They gave a hint at the fact that there were so many languages spoken there. They're supposed to be a world wide bad guy organization with no religious ferver behind it, more like something you'd see out of a Bond villian, not the Talliban or somesuch.

Hahah, that thing was damn near perfect. I loved it that he had a garage full of exotics, and the old rod was the one he played with and had as his screen saver. :D But the only one he drove was the R8. :o

Agreed. Speaking of Playboy, tell me you caught Stan Lee as Hugh Heffner. :D

the latest nick fury was modeled after Jackson... he was originally a white guy.

A notable difference between the two is the fact that Classic Fury is a Caucasian colonel with brown hair, while Ultimate Fury is a bald African-American general, and was in fact specifically tailored after actor Samuel L. Jackson with his permission.

Spiderman yes -
Hulk not really that good - they picked the wrong director/lead actor for it
BTW the long promo for "the incredible hulk" with Ed Norton was badass, it should be much better than the one from a few years ago - I think they realized they need to put some decent actors in these comic movies to get them close to right.

Erica Bana was not the problem with the first Hulk. Everything else was.

I tend to agree. Weird thing is, I've really enjoyed some Ang Lee movies, and I absolutely love Jennifer Connoly and Sam Elliot too. But that mix (plus Nick Nolte?) didn't really work.
That, and ILM did not do their best work on that movie. The effects were inconsistent at best. In some shots, the hulk looked great, in others, he looked like a cartoony Shrek-in-purple-pants. Don't even get me started on the "fight sequence in nearly-complete darkness" with zombiesteroid poodle.

Caught Iron Man last week and I thought it was an awesome movie. RDJr. played a great part of the asshole billionaire playboy and I can't see anyone else playing this part. Great movie and I think it moved to the top 4 super hero movies of all time on my last (Batman Returns and the Original X-Men and Spiderman would be the others).
Never was a big fan of The Hulk and will probably either download or wait for DVD to see the new one. Anybody else notice that Katie Holmes isn't playing Batman's love interest Rachael Dawes? I saw the trailer at the theater and was thinking "What's wrong with the way she looks". Didn't realize it was a different actress until I IMDB'd the movie just now.

Yeah i guess Katie Holmes wasn't able to agree on a deal with WB
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB116977056966988402.html
She recently was unable to make a deal with Warner Bros. to land what appeared to be a good opportunity: a reprisal of her role as assistant district attorney Rachel Dawes in the sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins," scheduled for summer 2008 and titled "The Dark Knight."

I don't know if you've seen Batman Begins, but I think that really showed the potential that movies from comics can have. The Iron Man series shows the same potential. The movie is no less than freaking awesome. Plus, there is an awesome preview for The Dark Knight which will probably be the best Batman flick to date.
