Anyone getting it? What consoles? I am getting it for both, not sure which console is better, but I hear online will be better on 360, and the game itself has loess load time and pop ups on the PS3... I kinda want only hte 360 version, but pop ups annoy the hell out of me, esp on a high def system. :(

Pop ups are the trees randomly appearing in the distance while you're driving, and stuff like that. The PS3 has a graphics accelerator or something that prevents that from happening. I might be getting it on 360 next week.

Metal Gear 4 comes out exclusively for PS3 in June, so I'd say around June you will get your first PS3 game... :p

I finally played it last night for a few hours...I didn't see a big problem with popups on my 360. i think some shrubs by the car wash were the only ones that did it. The game is fucken sweet though! And the window breaking part was annoying until I used a brick :D

If you run along the railroad across the bridge you can get to the next island, just don't go above ground. Or use a cheat code and get the helicopter :D

Got it for the PS3 last night and played for a few hours, pretty damn fun, I wasted a lot of time taking out Michelle trying to get Nikko laid & it finaly paid off! :D

yep i did that too! The pool playing on the game is fun as hell, you can put spin on the ball and draw and everything! I ran the table damn near once, and she's all dang you are pretty good, and then, OK I get the point! hahaha :D

and multiplayer is awesome. xbox live is great and makes it easy as hell.

BTW.....for some reason the bouncers attacked me after 3 lapdances with 2 strippers. I looked away a second and next thing I knew 2 dudes were trying to beat me up!

Go to the green dot on radar, to the bricks on the floor. Hit left bumper ONCE to pick one up, run back to the window dont hit a trigger on accident.
Then at the window, left trigger to lock on it and right trigger to throw it.

There's actually a rock or can by the trashcans right across the street you can use.

Walk across the street to the trashcans. right on the curb will be a can or rock. Press the LB to pick it up.

I had a shotgun (from a cop car I guess) - I tried the cheats for weapons and for the helicopter but didn't save after so it didn't log it permanently.

Firing a rocket launcher gets [COLOR=Red][SIZE=5]a LOT [/SIZE] [/COLOR] of attention from the police

oh and a side note... When given the choice to Kill Dwayne or Playboy X... Choose Playboy X - nothing changes other than you get his safe house if you kill him, and nothing if you kill Dwayne.

I flew one in multi.
Its fun as hell but takes a while to adjust too.

I want to play more 16 player multi tho, when I played it was just a few of us jackin around. But i'd love to fly around with a crew and land near people, gun em down and hop in the helicopter and take off again.
Plus the chopper has machine guns :D

I flew a small chopper in the Sixaxis tutorial but it failed me because the chopper crashed. I jumped out instead of landing correctly. :eek:

Does the ps3 itself not have anything like xboxlive? cause I can also use that xboxlive menu to auto join friends gta sessions. Another perk to xbox. I like the ps3 looks and games just not to keen on what ive seen/heard of its multi community.

Downside to any multi community like that is the 12 year olds tho...but that's what friend lists are for!

But even tho xbox live does cost, its minimal. It has its ups and downs like anything. 50 bucks for 13 months is hardly anything though. And you get the occasional free movie downloads, shows, demos, addons to games etc etc.

I'm happy to say that this will be the first GTA that I play all of the way through without using cheats. I've started to do it before in previous games, and always just give up after a while :o

I've played straight thru, no general mayhem or cheating on this profile. However on another profile, I've tested the cheats, and fucked around a bit.

There's some very tough missions in this game compared to San Andreas.

LMAO sounds like me. I'm going to give it a shot but I never finish a game. A new one always comes out before I can finish it. Its real hard for me to try and finish now due to online playing.

Now I came real close to beating SA but I cheated all the way through. lol. I knew codes from memory that would just about get me anything. I love the monster truck from that game. :eek:

I've spent the past two nites just dicking around with friends in multiplayer.

We went to the airport, and set up a helicopter just at the edge betwen to the plane loading ramps that are facing each other. If you ramp a car up into the rotors, it shoots the car off like crazy. If you do it with a motor cycle, it shoots your body easily 5+ football fields away, and is usually an instant, cool, very funny death.

At least the game gives you the option to take a cab, much like life! It's just more fun to drive drunk!

The Dialoge in this game is amazing. Listening to what the bitches you take on dates to the bar have to say when they are drunk is awesome.

I believe they're referring to the driving drunk as a violent crime part. Like everyone who gets behind the wheel drunk has the sole intention of killing as many people between point a and b.

The game is FULL of violent crime, but they're focusing on the drunk driving part in that statement.

AND MAN O MAN do the cops swarm when you drunk drive. And the screen was moving so crazy I was almost feeling ill from it.....
But I did manage to evade police and make it home....lol....

But this game is mature to begin with. they should start looking into fixing the idiots that are influenced by the games and the parents that can't teach their kids right from wrong. Instead of wasting all their time attacking games/music/movies.


IMO its almost better to have games like this, and the more real the better. Do the stupid shit IN GAME so no one real is hurt........

i picked it up saturday night and played it a little bit yesterday...i'm at the part where you first get the gun, and you have to stand at the look-out and shoot someone. i was still learning the controls, so i didn't get the gun up in time and screwed that one up...i'll give it another try when i get some time to play again. it seems like a pretty cool game, though.

You call for the cab by hitting the L1 button when one is in sight. Let it stop, then walk up to it and HOLD Y...and you'll get in. Be sure to hold it, not tap it. That's the mistake I kept making.

(This is for xbox incase you havn't guessed, but I'm sure the technique applies to PS3.)

I haven't used one cheat code... as you progress in the game, and date different chicks, you meet online, you'll find one you can call to increase your health, one you can call to lower your wanted level. One's a nurse, one's a lawyer...

I finished the main story line tonight, and now i'm doing all the bs in the game to get 100 percent. I play a few hours a day. So far I've got 42 hours of playing time. longest non-stop game was almost 11 hours, but i don't think that was in a row, i jst leave the machine on all day

I'm working on killing all of the pigeons in the game, there are 200, and spread way the fuck out...

Kill Playboy, not Dwayne - you get the pad, but he has more bodyguards when you go to kill him

The decisions you make really don't affect the outcome of the game at all, which i think it a little bogus. I'd like a more choose your own adventure style, with multiple outcomes, endings, etc...

That's not really a cheat

I read through the list on your link and didn't see any mention of a jetpack, Harrirer jet or road grader. Those are what we were saying isn't in GTA IV, they are in San Andreas.

I am more than willing to believe it with proof, so far you haven't provided any.

They do not exist... hands down, I've looked up every cheat, there is and there are no jet packs, no winged aircraft, no parachutes.

the only aircraft that i know of is the helicopter...and that thing is difficult as hell to fly! i tried one of the codes, and a boat dropped out of the sky on that "F" guy's house...i can't remember his name now. i just wanted to see what all of the cheat codes did, so i tried them all; now they're all saved in my phone under "cheats".

So far my most favorite mission is the bank robbery.

Dude, that's an easy one. Start at the back of the stripclub, in the private dance area... Kill the guy back there, and his buddy, go out the back door. The other two will come out the front door, try to kill them before they reach their cars.

BTW, May I recommend getting all of your "friends" respect and like up above 75%... not sure on exactly the ammount for each person, but, here's what you get..

You can call your friends for help:

Packie - Will wire a bomb in a car for you
Brucie - Will let you borrow his helicopter
Lil Jacob - Will come meet you and sell you guns
Dwayne - Will send a car of thugs to help you
Roman - Will send a cab for you for free

Dates:
Carmen - will help heal you over the phone
Kiki - will reduce your wanted level
Alex - will arrange discounts at the clothing store

Would kiki's ability work in a mission where the wanted level is part of the mission, or only on the wanted level accidently gained during a mission?

I honestly don't know. I didn't get the power from kiki til after i finished the game, but i know the health one for carmen worked in one mission i did.

The reason I heard for not having jets in this game, was that it was to be centered around the small islands and nothing more, so there was no reason for you to fly anywhere. As for the body building, it would have been a nice add on with Brucie, to go work out. haha. I do miss the car customizing tho.

Evidently the same reason there is no gambling, is because this is NY and that was LA and Vegas in San Adreas.

I really wish more developers would take advantage of the online functionality now, and allow downloadable mission addons, cars, cities, etc... GTA would be a killer RPG style game
