grove rat: I bought the elite and have probably only used 5 -8 gb (dl ninja Gaiden black and regular save files) I havn't found the urge to DL movies, tv shows or other games. I bought my brother the 20gb version and that's more than enough for him b/c he's not going to dl anything

Resistance did suck IMO. Gears fucking owned everyone in the face except their host advantage. Hopefully Gears 2 will fix it!! But if i were you i'd buy both!! Thats what i did.

i want to buy a blu ray player (have the 360) but can't justify 399 right now... though best buy did send me a $50 gift card b/c I bought the paper weight hd add on for 360

I don't think the Elite is worth it IMO.

Its only got a bigger HD and its black.

You can buy a HD upgrade of the premium too. So if you do feel you need more space you can always add.

it is worth it if you plan on DL movies, games, tv shows, content, etc
the 120 gb add on cost $179.. I say plan ahead and decide now

the elite...the reason being it does have the new falcon chipset which eliminates the red rings of death...worth the extra 100 just for that reason alone.

You have to purchase xbox live points then browse their movies/shows/games and just download them. Its really easy.

Get a 360, but get the pro, not elite. Not worth the money, and you can buy shit to make your case look black if you like.
You'll lose sleep and possible miss work for Forza 2, Halo 3, Gears of War, and The Orange box.
The maps have been out for almost a month now for 360 on cod4. . . that should tell y ou something about the ps3 network right there. You can have your free shit if you don't mind always being second (or last) in online content.
Don't listen to the first and second gen 360 haters who experienced rrod. I don't think anyone who has had the falcon chipset has even reported that problem yet, and if they have, their in the %1 of falcon's that have shipped out.
Pay less for a console that already has the game you really want, and pay even les for the other when the price drops more.

Yeah, I'm barely on. I've had xbl since it came out and my gamer score is still only like 2k points. I've just got too much other stuff going on and my interest in gaming as a whole is really low.

I'll post a price up either today/tomorrow. It will most likely be around $425 right off the top of my head - but I'll do some research and adjust accordingly.

Several elites are on the market WITHOUT a flacon chipset.
Arcades, Pros, and Elites are NOW being sold NEW with the Falcon chipset.

you still haten on the 360 :p . I tell you what they have gotten better. A buddy of mine got a 360 about 5 months ago and has no problems with it. Funny thing is he rarely turns his off. He forgets about it all the time and goes to work while its on.

Now mine has been in the shop for the red ring but easy to send off and and get back in a short time. And now its still going with no problem.

For me, the choice between a PS3 or an XBox 360 comes down to one question. Do you like gaming? The PS3 does have some good games like COD4 and Warhawk (both of which I really enjoy) but the PS3 does not enjoy the library of games the XBox 360 does. This is especially true if you have a PS3 that is not backwards compatible with the PS2.

I've really cut back on gaming in the last year. For me, the PS3 is a media connector and BluRay player. I use it to stream music, movies, and other crap from my Mac (which the XBox does too) The BluRay drive was the only real difference for me. This could all change after I finish remodeling the house. I've been jonesin' to get MetalGearSolid4 and GrandTurismo. But right now there isn't even any furniture in my living room while I get the remodeling done. There are also some other very interesting games in the pipe but several might be considered vaporware (like MGS4 was for a while) Little Big Planet looks extremely good (and very different)

IF the XBox switches over to BluRay it changes everything. I'll put this PS3 on ebay in an instant. I still haven't played HALO3.

Oh, and count me as another vote to get a 360 Pro. The Elite simply isn't worth it. IMO Microsoft will be greatly expanding their online content in the next year and will probably offer even bigger hard drives before long. At this point, even 120GB isn't going to cut it, especially when 500GB HDDs are out there...

sweet then get that if you dont need the hard drive! the HD sold alone is 180 though, so it makes sense to buy the elite if you need the space.

I got my Elite in September, so it looks like I am Falconless, but my white box is from a week after launch, and it still works, so I have a back up if one dies... :)
