As alot of yall know I had some laptop problems with my Compaq R300. It crashed one day and not matter what I would do it would not run. I tried the recovery disk and usually it would take forever and not do shit. Well out of curiousity I pulled it back out tonight to mess with it. For 5 hours it sat on "25 minutes remaining" on the windows install then finally did something and finished. Once it got to he loading screen this error comes up. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with the computer? I have never seen this before but since it meantions the memory that would be my first thought on whats wrong with it :D
sorry for the crap pictures but it would not show up clear enough to read it in 1 picture from my phone.

Could be a couple things, but its most likely not physical memory errors. Windows always spews crap like that when it has a problem.
IT could possibly be a trojan/adware but eh can't find much on that.
Several people seem to have your same error messages and claim the below steps fix it.
IF its a secondary system of yours you may try a clean install not a repair...repairs suck plain and simple. If you're having OS problems a repair usually wont do much but give you a crutch to limp on for a while.
Perform these steps leaving the crash dialog open.
1. Click Start->Run, type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the open box and click OK.
2. Double click the service "Automatic Updates".
3. Click on the Log On tab, please ensure the option "Local system account" is selected and the option "Allow service to interact with desktop" is unchecked.
4. Check if this service has been enabled on the listed Hardware Profile. If not, please click the Enable button to enable it.
5. Click on the tab "General "; make sure the "Startup Type" is "Automatic". Then please click the button "Start" under "Service Status" to start the service.
6. Repeat the above steps with the other service: Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
================================ NEXT ================================
Re-register Windows Update components and Clear the corrupted Windows Update temp folder
1. Click on Start and then click Run,
2. In the open field type "REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
3. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded" message, click OK.
4. Please repeat these steps for each of the following commands:
REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL
REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL
REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL
After the above steps are finished reboot.
Since temporary folder of Windows Update may be corrupted. We can refer to the following steps to rename this folder
1. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window.
net stop WuAuServ
2. Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press Enter.
3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold.
4. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window.
net start WuAuServ
If having a problem with renaming the file named SofwareDistribution -
'Error Renaming File or Folder , Cannot rename SofwareDistribution: Acces is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that it is not curently in use'
When you're modifying the properties of the Automatic Updates (aka wuauserv) service, change the startup type from 'Automatic' to 'Manual.' Then reboot. The effect is that the service doesn't start at all on bootup, so there's no need for the net stop command. After all is said and done, recommend changing the startup type for that service back to 'Automatic.'.

I did a full install becasue before it would not do jack shit when I tried to turn it on. Alot of times it would get half way through the install and shut off but it finally made it all the way through last night and it will never boot up. If I turn it off then back on it will just sit at the loading screen for ever and sometimes it pops up that error but it wont actually boot up into windows fully so that I would be able to do any of those things. I have a new Dell XPS so if I cant fix this pos oh well but I just wanted to give it one last chance at life!

Ahhh so its dragging even on a fresh install?
Well damn, could be the HDD dying as well...
I'm more of a dell fan myself, the one compaq I had ran like a one legged horse..
Sell it off or donate it to goodwill and stick with that XPS :)

Do you ever shut that laptop off or do you just close the lid?

I am not trying to replace the XPS 1530 I freakin love this computer. I think the damn screen on the compaq weighs as much as the whole XPS lol I was just hoping I could get the compaq running and sell it.
I did notice that the HDD light on the front is always on and its loud but its been that way for over a year now. I guess it could have just taken a dump. Wonder what its worth without a hard drive?

The old compaq I used to just leave it on with the screen closed but the XPS I shut it down because it doesn't take that long to boot up unlike the compaq it used to take like 5 minutes to boot
