I had to call Dell last night when my finger print scanner stopped working and could not find the drivers. I was shocked that I got a person on the phone in less than 5 minutes and it was also an american  They had me install a small program to allow them to connect to my computer. I just sat there and watched as he controlled my mouse and went out and found the updated driver and installed it and I did not have to do anything! It was pretty damn cool and the problem got fixed fast! 2 Thumbs up for Dell XPS customer service!

That is why you got a person with english as their native language. Sometimes they're canadian though, but just as good.

Most of Dell's current english speaking support for consumer accounts is based in the united states through outsourced companies.

Knock on wood...but I've bought 3-4 Dells and have never had to deal with their CS. They do have pretty good forums over there too that are real helpful if needed.

whats funny is the guy on the phone never told him to try flipping the battery after he told him it was the battery that came with the computer a month ago! I finally was like let me see the damn thing and I was going to try my battery from my remote and when I removed the cover I noticed that his was backwards from mine :D

WEBEX!
It's a godsend when dealing with EMC arrays and stuff. And when I worked at Dell once we started using Webex life was so much better.....
It is not fun talking someone through half that junk...
