Who here plays chess? I know there is probably some chess gurus hiding on here somewhere. I just started playing it a little since it came preinstalled on my new dell. Anyone know of any online places to play so I dont have to play with a computer?

I used to play on Yahoo!, but haven't in a long time. I'd probably lose to a 5 year old now. :o

ICC on www.chessclub.com - it's the very best online chess program. Nearly all of the national and international pro's play there. You're able to watch them live, play other similarly rated folks; play computer-programs or play chess puzzles. If you're a student you can get access for $24/year. Otherwise it's around $48/year. Very worth it in my opinion.

I've been playing for a long time and my last official rating was around 1830 in blitz and somewhere close to that in standard.

You can play at Yahoo for free, but it sucks. Too much cheating and the setup sucks.

just went on there and it looks like they got a "new" version of chess is what it says

My ex's younger brother is badass in chess use to play online all the time I took him to UTD because a friend of mine told me they had a great chess team there he did not play any from the team but was told about some dallas chess club or something like that and we took him there and he kicked some serious ass the boy has amazing skills and impossilbe to play on one min. games. I think he went off to college thou.
