Gran Turismo 5: Prologue

I'm not sure who's interested or not, but Fry's has copies of them right now. It's $39.99. The Fry's in Las Colinas also has the steering wheel hooked up to the game on demo.

They had about 40 copies left @ 12:30p.

Man I am so tempted to go buy it that is by far my favorite game. Ever since I bought my PS3 I have just been waiting for GT to come out with a new version for it.

It's worth the money in my opinion. The graphics are great and 2 player is pretty entertaining.

well played for a hour and did the c class part. It sucks you gotta do 30 races it seems before you can even do anything. You dont buy parts like the old games. But after the 30 races youll be able to tune it. How gay is that. I hope the full game isnt that way. It does drive better than the demo that was out. and the tire screeching is not as annoying.

Ill still play it tho and hopefully itll get better. A easy way to gain some cash is to keep doing the one lap at the highspeed ring. easy money and only takes a sec for 5k you can save up anuf for a decent car.

I played the hell out of GT4, but wasn't too impressed with it.
I plan on giving gt5 a shot when/if i get a ps3.
However, if anyone is dumb enough to buy gt prologue, and not just rent it, you're a moron.
If this isn't an attempt by sony to cash in on a name, i don't know what is.

I disagree.

I enjoy the game so far. Why would I RENT it for 1/4th of the price? If I do end up enjoying the game, the next step would be to buy it. Now, I've spent $50+ on it.

Instead, I can just buy it and then if I don't like it, sell it for about the difference of a rental or so.

In this case though; I'm okay with spending $40 for the game.

Yes, because I've been following it closely and have enjoyed the prior games. If I didn't like it, I doubt that I would be out much more than the rental it costs if I were to sell it. I am not disappointed with the game being a partial version and I enjoy the game thus far and the multi-player aspect. For me, I see an OK value for $40.

Work is boring the hell out of me too. Personally, I'm just gonna wait until 1. I buy a PS3 (again :mad: ) and 2. The full version comes out.

And if the full version doesn't allow for modding cars, I will fucking refuse to buy it. Polyphony takes long enough to develop this game.

They're estimating late 2009, so it'll be a while. They're definitely not releasing it this year though.

By demo, I assume you mean the GT:HD concept you could download for free? That was a small portion of GT4 with updated graphics to make it HD. Same physics, same sounds.

GT5:Prologue is a small portion of GT5. Even more highly detailed vehicles than GT:HD, more realistic sounds, "Pro" physics that rival the PC sim's.

I'll be picking up GT5:P in the next month or two ... had to pay rent & utilities on my old apt and my new house this month from overlap in leases, and Mario Kart Wii is an absolute necessity. Time to give my bank account a little rest :)

I've played about an hour so far and I like it. I also agree that it's pretty good value for 40, even though it's not the full game it's much better than any of the other racing sims out for the PS3 right now.

Hell i baught my ps3 at launch for gran turismo and thats it. So yeah its a waste of money but its my money. I baught the ps2 at launch for the same thing gran turismo. I baught the 360 for forza 2. I dont play alot of games but i always play the shit out of the gt series. Since this isnt a full game it is lacking to forza2. I like to race finish the game and then fuck off doing donuts seeing how long i can keep it straight. I dont think this gt will alow this. strictly racing :( Its worth the 40 bucks tho. I'm no high roller by anymeans. If the full copy was 150 bucks id buy it with not even a thaught. But so far every game has less fun factor. I still think the best is gt3 as far as fun and racing. reminds me alot of forza2

You play Burnout: Paradise City? that game is fun for just the crazy stunts and the awesome wrecks.

played online just a few min ago and its kinda fun. But its more lets take out the leaders. The guys i race with in forza are clean and race to race.

Another suck feature it just throws you in a room so how are you going to race with people you know.

Ive passed the first two groups (C and B) but had a really hard time clearing the ones with the Integra Type R where you have to pass the entire field of 16 cars in one lap. I think it took me like 20 tries to pass the one in the B class, and I ended up with only a bronze. :mad: :mad:

I also like GranTurismo TV where you can watch videos, supposedly they will be putting episodes of Top Gear on it soon... right now they just have a couple, one of the GTR and another Lancer Evolution

im just about done with the s class stuff. I got silver on that one with the integra. It would be a kickass game if they improved the online. Once you can do the tuning thing it sucks cuase they limit you. so whats the freaking point. still shifts slow as dirt in some cars. oh well ill still finish it out till the full game comes out,

i really like the GT series back on PS2. But once I played Forza2, its going to take alot to out due that. Forza overall was badass. From the online, buying, selling and trading cars. But since I own a PS3 now I might just get the Gt5 when it comes out to see how it compares to the Forza2. But once it comes out who knows there might just be a forza3 in the works.

For shits and giggles I throw in Forza2 to try and a beat all my friends times. lol I try to be number 1 on the list on my friends. Oh and if anyone has a car that thinks they can out mph me let me know. :D Now I can't turn but in a top end race this things is fast :eek: I would like to know if there is one faster. hit me up if you want to run them :D

im not that good really :o , but I do have a car that is pretty damn fast on the top end. If you want to see if you can hang with a top end race we can play. I even have someone else who is willing to get on to.

I would imagine they would have at least something resembling those options in this version, I mean it's not the full version, but it's still $40 :)

I hope it's in the real game, I won't buy it if it isn't. Not that Sony could give a rat's ass what I think. It just wouldn't be the same without those options.

i think ill get it hooked back up this weekend and see how i do.

I'm not a big drag racer/top end guy but i can try as long as we make some laps as well somewhere.

we was just playing around one night trying to find the fastest car on the top end. We also put on where you can't hit the other car. We were going from like a 100mph roll. Nothing like pulling that vette fully modded that you win, that you can hit like 900 or 1000hp with. The car I did it with pulls it real easy.

But if we have to make one turn with that car, then I'm in last :o .
