Anyone selling any cisco 2620 or higher routers? Maybe 2950 or higher switches? Looking to setup a home lab/network.

ebay is the best bet. There was another site that had some decent deals on the older shit. I personally would use the 1700/1800 series for lab purposes. I'd also ensure that my switch was a L3 switch.

Truthfully though, if you're at that level for labing gear I'd look into the simulators as well. MIght save ya a ton of money.

Also check out the Cisco ASA 5505 and lanstreet.com. Good firewall learnin' for about 350 bux.

yeah buying gear even used on ebay is expensive. Already use a sim but it is nice to get hands on with the equipment as it is still different from realtime. Do you have your certs?

CCNP/VP/DP...couple of CQSs and soon to be SP.

I agree the gear is nice, but it better to understand the technology and work with good people.

Also, if I remember right you can rent real labs as well online - but that would probably get expensive pretty quickly.

I just looked for around 500-1000 bux you should be able to put together a pretty sweet lab. Hell, do another 1000 for a server and VM some MS crap and your set.

True, Not looking to spend 2k right now though. Might just stick with virtual and try to learn it the best I can. I have access to school labs so that helps.

As a heads up the best investment you can make is in your own training. In the past I've spent 6K at one shot.

It shows motivation too if your interviewing and can slip that tid-bit in there too. :) Plus you get cool toys.

I'm being two-faced though. First post I say use sims, then I say spend 2K. I'll digress. hehe

Thats old, get a 2961, it's newer!

If this was a month or so ago, I threw away several Cisco routers/switches. Don't recall the model numbers tho.
