A buddy talked me into taking the Datsun out to see what it will do N/A so me and my buddies LS1 S-10 are going. Had to get a 5 point harness in it and replace the passenger side window my darling wife shattered slamming the door on its first drive. Other than maybe a battery hold down I should be legal to run.

Anyone else going?

Prolly head out there when they open up at 2. Shouldnt need trackbite I dont think. The car only spins the tires off the trans brake. How is the prep out there on Sunday anyway?

Oh and that is with no burnout. Tomorrow will be my first burnout in it too :o

That was pretty fun and the ole pumpkin surprised me. I was hoping for a 7.99 and the last pass ran a 7.60 @ 91mph. Completely stock LS1 longblock, powerglide (1.76 first gear) and 3.08 gears.

1st pass

7.96@92 bogged off the tranny brake

2nd pass

7.64@91 small accelerator pump shot to cure bog, no air cleaner

3rd pass

7.60@91 same setup as second

All that with a Edelbrock carb! Cant wait till I can afford that quickfuel carb I got my eyes on ;)

I went. I waited. I ran. Almost 2 hours in the staging lanes for one pass. I got a relatively clean 60' for my first pass in the car with the gears (2.10), banged 2nd and proceeded to pedal out the entire freakin' gear  ... literally 1.5 seconds of pedalling. ugh. 9.02 @ 83. Boo. :( With some clutch work and a 1.9-2.0 sixty, not spinning ALL of 2nd... I think 8.3-8.5 @ 84 is very feasible.

When is a better night to go, so I don't sit and wait for eons???

2 hours??

Dude I waited MAYBE 20-30 minutes my last run. Both other times I waited max 10 minutes. Everyone was piling up in the 2nd and 3rd lanes for some unknown reason. I just rolled up in the 4th and was up front.

Brien and I used to go on wednesdays(i think) for test and tune, maybe 5-15minutes or so in staging lanes.

Wait until i get my car back and we can go one night, i need to get some times in the car anyway.

I had fun last night everyone.
The track seemed to be hooking better during the day for sure!
I have a few changes to make on the car and hopefully it runs a little better than it did.
I really enjoyed the last race though.
I had to show pretty Tony three F-in times that my bottle was unhooked!!!
Hope you made some lunch money BBC!
:D

Also, thank goodness no one got stabbed this time!

They started grudge racing at 8pm, how does that work? Do people just line up together and run like TNT or do people have to put up money? All my buddies split when they heard TNT was over and I didnt know how it worked and was getting different answers depending on who I asked.

No, you don't have to put up any money. Just find somebody you want race.

Haha hell no I didn't. I tried getting a small bet on the side but not one wanted to, and I was even nervous about that!

I didn't know what you guys had up your sleeves and I kept telling them over and over again to be careful, because I knew the capabilities of that car.

Did Rodriguez racing back you guys?

Anyone see the silver Z28 last night?!?!? New best for the stock motor'd/internaled/bottom end with a new best 60 ft on the radials. 1.304 :D

Yea, I saw you and Manuel over there telling secrets.
That is probably what got Tony so spooked.

Robert's crew is who I'm always with.
Marty(Robert's cousin) is one of my good friends.

Congrats on the new best.
That car really moves for what it is!

You had me worried for a moment when I saw a bottle in the car, I told them not to race you if that was the case hahaha.

K.B's vette MOVES boy. I drove it to the track when he took delivery on it and it is the pimpest car I have ever drove...and it breathes up top so well... pulls like a freight train!

It is true that car put down 700+rwhp?

That car has a 4L60E in it.

You think it would live making that much power? lol it would have to be a bad ass mofo tranny.

The car makes VERY good power.... The combo works very well together. ;)

I don't think they will want any of your car next time. :o

Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to say the numbers as those guys do alot of gambling.
