How's it goin' y'all?
This past week has been ROUGH! Still caughing, haven't been able to work out in over a week, but I'm at the "fuck it" stage. I'm working out anyway.
Still, I'm down to 240.5 as of this morning. Knocking on the 23X territory, I'll take that. I plan to break into the 230's in the next two days, and be down to 234 (a total of 30lbs lost!) in the next 10 days. :)
Everybody is telling me that my face and neck have really thinned out, and I can see more definition in my arms, mostly triceps, so that's nice. Still fat and well above 20% BF, but better than I was.

I finally got under 230, and hope to never return. Last few days I have been 228 and 229. This is the first time I have been in the 220 in almost 10 years.

I've gained nearly 4 pounds. This sucks. Looks like the products I'm using are not helping me lose much at all. My arms are becoming slightly more vascular but that is the only real change. I may just end up getting an eliptical or treadmill soon. Apprarently, its going to take much more cardio then an hour 4 times a week. Diet will have to get more strict as well. Been eating out several times a week with my father and in-laws.

i've pretty much tossed myself out of the competition.
first it was st patty's day, then work had me in new orleans for a week, then new york for a week. Then nascar was this weekend, and I broke my hand playing football out there. so.. i'm out of the running.
sorry for the all lowercase here, but my right pinky isn't working so fuck the right shift key!
I'm down about 7 or 8 lbs. I was out for a solid month with the flu. I have never been that sick. I am back on the wagon this week though. Going to have to hit it hard to catch back up.

There isn't a supplement on the market that can make up for a shitty diet. There is a reason that all the ads say "in conjunction with a balanced diet and daily exercise."

That sucks Matt. I was hoping to barely edge you out on winning this mofo. ;)
Just remember, every chance you get to do right (be it diet or workout) adds up. No reason to go overboard in the wrong direction just because you weren't able to kick as much ass as you would have liked.

Congrats! I know it's been slow going for you, especially for as much biking as you do. Nothing like a decade-old goal being re-achieved to keep the motivation up, eh?

what are you taking? Dont forget..most protein shakes and stuff adds a few hundred calories (if used with milk). that in itself could almost be a small meal
Im working out 30 minutes a day (lifting) and then 30-45 min of cardio. I always make sure I burn 400 calories during the cardio. I have only lost 4lbs since you guys started but have dropped 4% body fat (6lbs)

ON Whey gold (1 scoop) Muscle Milk (1 scoop) with water 2 daily 3 (training). Baked chicken, steamed veggies, about a half gallon of water intake daily. VPX Redline and Tetrazene ES-50, Nutrex Vitargo post workout shake. And when going out I'm not making shitty decisions on my meal choices. Looks like I'll be cutting out my soda all together (usually 1 can maybe 2 daily). That right there is an extra 200-400 calories.

You need to swith the muscle milk with Evopro made by the same people and throw some Venom Hyperdrive 3.0 in the mix to suppress the appitite.

Oh I know, it's just my priorities are my priorities, and they were...
I'm Irish, so St Patty's was an off day, and whoah was it an off day :)
I was in New Orleans, are you tellin me, you'd pass up all the cajun food? I couldn't (plus no gym while i was there)
And New York? what's an irish boy to do? Sit in an irish pub and get full and hammered? I did :) (plus no gym while i was there)
Then there's nascar, well, this weekend was one big blur of alcohol and bbq
It's ok, once my hand heals i'll be back in the gym for sure, diet is easy to control, when i'm not out and about.

Muscle milk is pretty high in calories... I just checked and your ON/MM shake is like 450 calories... You are taking in over 1000 calories a day in supplements. Id do what Grayhorse said and try something else with less carb/calories. With the intake you have it sounds like you are trying to bulk. If thats not what you are trying to do...then you know why you are gaining weight.
Also, check your body fat percentage...weight doesnt mean you are not losing fat. I have gone down 6lbs of body fat and Im really close to my starting weight.

Still hovering at 175.6. I'm getting stronger and more defined with each passing week. Having a little extra motivation hasn't hurt either.

Yeah, muscle milk is 300-350 cals depending on flavor. Muscle Milk Light is 195 cals and Evopro is 130-140 cals and taste almost exactly the same.
Since he likes the cytosport brand....

I only use a half serving of the MM (170 cals) so I'm at 280cals made with water. I was hoping that the amount of protein would help suppress my appetite. I'll take a look into the Evopro. And looks like I'll be trying to squeeze more time in for cardio and more time for sleep. Six hours just isn't as much as it used to be.

enter in your info and kinda go off that...if you are trying to lose weight, you need to be negative calories in a day. So if it says you need 2200 calories a day to maintain weight...try eating around 1700-1800 and make sure you burn 100-200 calories per day working out.
1 lb of fat equates to 3500 calories...so if you are eating 1700 calories and not really working out...theoretically you should lose 1lb of fat per week (500cal/day x 7 days). So base it off that. Dont want to go crazy with it and be negative 1200 or anything. If you look at Medifast diets, they have the people on 5 small shakes (90 cal each) + 1 healthy meal (salad and chicken..around 600 calories). These people are losing 20lbs a month in some cases. The more overweight the faster you should lose the weight.

Any chances of a price list? Im going to need some more ON Gold Standard Vanilla Ice Cream or maybe EvoPro. Price is a big factor since Im not working during school. Also, do you sell NO Explode? Im using Gaspari superpump 250 (is that what its called?) and its just giving me the shits without a lot of pump. I can tell I have more energy for a longer workout...but no "pump"

I'm only at 139... started at 145. I've gotten lazy with the workouts. We had family in town last week b/c my husband's grandmother passed and our house was batshit crazy for awhile. Things are back to "normal" and I've eaten well the last few days so I'm hoping to get a few extra pounds off before the deadline!
I don't think I'll make my 125-130 goal but I'm going to give it an honest effort. The fact that getting into a bathing suit of any sort makes me want to vomit should be motivation enough to get off my lazy, fat ass and get back into the habit of going to the gym!

The more overweight the faster you should lose the weight. I think I've lost and gained too many times before and my body has become stubborn to weight loss. One plus is that I can get thru my workouts and have increased the amount of weight being used.
Holy shit according to mayo clinic I need to cut 1,000 calories a day to lose weight. I need 2,400 to maintain my weight and I've managed to be just a bit over 2,000 so another 600 cals per day to go. Man that will make me lose weight for sure. Looks like I'll be stocking up on tuna fish and spicy mustard, wheat bread, and no more oranges/orange juice in the am.

Honestly, for supplement resale, the best deals are to be found on pills and small powders. Nobody makes much on Protein jugs or Liquids. (pre made shakes, etc.)

Finally found some at Target first thing this morning.
I did a little research, and apparently the stats/serving sizes are quite different for the powder vs. pre-mixed Muscle Milk (I much prefer the pre-mixed)
230 cals per 11oz container, and I'm having one each morning as a meal replacement. That's not too bad, so I think I'm doing ok there.

it's been hard for sure. like Matt, i got thrown off too. my grandpa died, flew to SC for almost a week- eating tons of home cooking relatives and friends brought by the house. then i flew to orlando for 5 days for work, then was home a week, and then to vegas last week for work. didn't have time or access to a gym (would have cost $25 a day in vegas) on travel. after standing in a booth in heels for over 8hours, the gym is the last place i wanted to see. i did try and make better choices with eating though, which is big for me. so i haven't done great either- probably down about 5lbs overall. but the last month has just been straight travel it seems.
just started back this week- walked a half marathon on sunday with ZERO training. tons of hills too- that kicked my ass. hit pilates last night and the gym today at lunch- did chest/tri. pilates again tomorrow, so i am getting back into the groove.
we have a beachhouse for a week in july and then my sister's wedding in october, so those are my motivation- to actually not be embarrassed in a bikini again.
the good thing is that taking care of a 5 month old keeps me so busy that i don't snack like i used to do.
sounds like Blake is kicking all of our asses- good job Blake!

I've been avoiding the scale because I lost the first month and a half to that nasty flu that was going around (got it twice no less), and after two weeks back on the pain train, I've managed to sqeeze out 17lbs of water and fat. My goal was 200, and at 202 I'm realizing that I'm gonna have to get to 190-195 to get as lean as I want for the summer. Strength seems to be stable, so if I can still bench double my body weight at the end of this diet, I'll be content. I had a goal of benching 440 at 220lb body weight at one point, but I don't know that I ever want to get that fat again. :o

My head is full of "coulda, shoulda, woulda" in regards to bulking up a little more in the time that I was bed ridden, but priorities shifted to simply getting healthy and feeling good again. My days of being bigger, better, badder are fading behind me, and being replaced with thoughts of mortality and the possibility of recurring joint pain. Growing old sucks. :o

Well, I've never personally understood the bigger, better, badder thing. (Always been bigger, not so better, and badder in a bad way myself, lol)
