Who else is planting shit this weekend, the weather is perfect, not too hot outside, ground is still damp/soft from the rain we had so digging is easy.

Sucks to have to rake up all the mulch first, I am tossing a bunch of it and replacing it with cedar mulch. Planting would be so much easier if it was just dirt!

Time to get some color back in the front yard!

Wife won't ride to Lowes to get some, so i'm mowing the weeds and posting. Sun just came out a little while ago, looked like it was gonna rain this mornign.

Well, $300 and a day later, my fucken back is killing me! Got 1/3 of the flowerbed re-done. The dirt here is not even dirt, it is clay. I dug out a bunch and replaced it with topsoil/cow poo mixture. Good thing the lot next door is empty, I just tossed the old shit dirt over there.

I've been out digging new flowerbeds for my mom this weekend. My back is killing me, but at least the weather is nice and comfortable.

It was a great weekend for yard work. After a year plus, I finally started to excavate the areas close to the fence that have been a little out of control with vines, leaves and branches and then the week before I re did the beds in the front of the house. I hated the exisiting bushes. Anyway, its a work in progress.

Well, all except those big hanging metal stars. :p

what is with the fascination with these stars? A lot of my neighbors have the all over as well...? A person could not pay me enough to hang one at or on my home...

I wanted something for an accent outside and of all the choices the star was the best alternative. The hanging one went well with the kick ass patio furniture we got (and have never used!!) so I stuck it out there.

I am paying the price as far as the yard work. I did something to back and have developed tourette's when the spasms start. My co-workers think I am nuts and Wade has been calling me the old lady. Now I know why old people walk the way that they do.. hunched over, butt tucked, legs spread and toes out.... Wade asked if it was worth it... I think so! I like having a nice yard.

We also have one of those metal stars. The wife said she wanted it so I bought it and hung it. I'm not sure why she likes it, but it doesn't look bad in my opinion. They are starting to pop up everywhere. I used to see them when I was growing up on the ranches. I just assumed that they had to do with the Lone Star State.

For posterity's sake, can you guys list out what you're planting? I tried this one time and somehow managed to buy all plants and flowers that DIE instantly due to the shade or sun or whatever. If I ever decide to get creative again, I want to make sure I buy stuff that will still be around in a few days!!
