 I have a fairly new house (3-months old) and I have quite a bit of grout and tile. I think I need to have it sealed so the grout doesn't start looking crappy from stains later on.

Is this something I can do myself or how much does it cose to have done?

Thanks!

Sealant cost a couple bucks. Easy to do.. Just go to home depot and ask for grout sealer.

I got some from home depot that is in a pressurized can. You just point it toward the grout and it press the nozzle. It shoots a thin stream and you can cover a large area rather quickly.

Id research brands first!!

I researched a while back when we redid the bathroom and Lowes carried a brand called Aqua something... there is a fast set one that cures in 24 hours and should only take one application. Just spray it on the grout lines and let it dry. I did 2 coats. Many months later it still looks great...and trust me, that bathroom sees 5-8 showers a day.

edit...its called AquaMix and it may also be sold at Home Depot...seems like it varies from store to store.

There are several sealers for tile grout. I tried a nice spray on type from Loews that did not work. You might have better luck with the others.

You can do it yourself easy. It is very time consuming as well.

Thanks for all the information guys. I figured it was something I could do myself and I KNEW it would be time consuming. Looks like I will be getting some of the AquaMix and get busy....one room at a time.
