this year could be a boston - los angeles battle again, but im gonna say LA doesnt make it. i actually think my pick is new orleans with la as a number 2.
i think phoenix and houston are out in the first round. i think sa and utah will advance but they seem very beatable.
golden state and denver just arent good enough to knock any of the above off and dallas wont make it.
oh yea, kobe get mvp this time.

Mavs suck and that's pretty much it. Bonehead owner with too much money. Decent coach and still NO LEADER on the team. Boston if they keep they're shit together will win this finals. Lakers and Kobe have a pretty damn good shot as long as Kobe keeps his head and stays away from technicals. sp?

Sorry Spurs fans but this season has the Celtics-Lakers written all over it.Imagine the ratings and revenue from this series. You can bet the officials will make this happen. If anyone as much as blows on Kobe, he is going to the free throw line. I can honestly see 20-30 free throws a game.

You've got to be high. I love my Mavs, but I just don't see them even making the playoffs this year. If they do make it, I don't see them making it paking it past the second round.

not high, i dont smoke. i just think that every other year we have gotten overhyped and put way too much into the regular season. for the rest of the regular season everyone is going to have to pick up the pace due to dirk being gone, and i think that is going to help a lot. then get dirk back after some good rest, and i can see things clicking better than they have been for the past few weeks. i have a feeling we will keep our 7th spot and end up against a team that we can beat.
i think the kidd deal was stupid, but i still think harris needed to be traded for someone that can control the game.

Boston is definitely the East choice, with Cleveland as the runner-up in my opinion. Now for the West I'm feeling New Orleans, as long as they stay healthy(especially Chris Paul) they have the best chance than any other team. Lakers are a good team but I don't think they'll have what it takes come the playoffs. Spurs for runner-up.
As far as MVP goes it's a toss up between Chris Paul or Kevin Garnett!

Even though GS leads the NBA in scoring per game they also are the worst defensive team in the league giving up the most points per game as well.

mavs are now in a tie with denver and golden state for the last 2 spots.
problem is denver has the tie breaker over dallas so right now they are sitting at #7 so the mavs have to get a better record flat out.
currently mavs have the tie breaker over golden state so they are sitting at #8. if GS wins the next game then they split the season 2 and 2 and the tie breaker rules get crazy.
bottom line is mavs shouldnt expect a tie breaker and need to play their lives off because the other two teams are playing good ball and winning games whereas the mavs are rolling horrible momentum and no dirk.
they all have pretty tough matchups remaining. it's a crap shoot at this point.

No shit, even when they went on that mad streak to open the game, they were settling for jump shots. I didn't start my DVR recording until about 9:00pm, and I FF thru the 1st half. I knew about 8 minutes in, they were gonna get beat. And GS drilled em. No agression whatsoever from this team.

I didn't intend to under-estimate the Spurs, and I am twisted in my views of the rest of my predictions. On one hand, I want to Mavs to make the playoffs, and see what happens, but I fear they will get bounced in the first round handily. On the other hand, missing the playoffs would cause heads to roll, and hopefully create some shake-ups on the roster. Plus, it would give them their draft pick back for this year. Maybe, with some wheeling and dealing, they could let some of the aged veterans go on to greener pastures, via trade, and get some younger guys in here.

Mavs took out the Sonics last night 99-83 and barring a collapse like they did in the 1st round last year, we're in the playoffs. Mavs are 2 up on the Nuggets/GS with 4 to play. Denver and GS face each other tomorrow in GS. That should be a VERY interesting game. I could see both teams scoring 130+ with GS winning the game...simply because of home court.

yea, i think the mavs are gonna take the 7th spot now after stepping up in a few big games.
golden state and denver had some stupid losses and now they will have to duke it out for the 8th spot.
its very tight on who is going to take the number 1,2, and 3 spots. id prefer mavs to play san antonio over the lakers for sure. i just think we match up better against san antonio and the lakers (namely phil jackson) has our number. i dont know how i feel against new orleans. i think they have the talent to go all the way but lack the experience right now.
the one team i wouldnt want to play is utah right now. we get a preview of what could happen tomorrow tho.

Its been quite a ride but it looks like the mavs are coming together a little bit right now in time for the playoffs. Kidd looks a little more comfortable in the offense and his defense has really picked up over the last few weeks. I don't know if they are gonna get out of the first round but barring a collosal collapse, they should make the playoffs.
The hottest team right now is the Jazz. Their defense has been superb the last few weeks and D Williams has really taken his game to a new level.
