Oklahoma (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/5973) signee Josh Jarboe was arrested Thursday evening for receiving stolen property and having a weapon on school property -- both felony charges for one of the nation's top college recruits. Jarboe, a standout wide receiver from Cedar Grove High School, is ranked by Rivals.com as the 10th-best wide receiver nationally in the Class of 2008. He committed last month to play for Oklahoma (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/5973), choosing the Sooners over Florida (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/6015), Georgia (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/6016) and LSU (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/6024). In addition to the felony charges, Jarboe also could face expulsion from school under DeKalb schools policy.

Good decision to change your post's title.
I will wait to pass judgement until I see how the charges play out and how the school handles it. As we've come to learn, every school gets their fair share of bad apples.

Funny how you're taking shots at OU considering UT's players run-ins with johnny-law the last couple of years. Same old texas homer.

Those players were dealt with, and harshly. See Ramonce Taylor. OUs players were given "medical redshirts."
It isnt about the incident, it's about the outcome of said incident.
RT was booted off the team BEFORE he was even arrested, and never played a down for The University again........

I'm sorry you find it odd. I find it odd you would try to turn this into a religous issue.

The helmet is a nice touch :D , but as was stated, us Texas fans don't have much room to talk. OkieJoe, don't sweat it, in the end it's just football, and trash talking about teams that none of us here play for.

So true hotrod66. Its just hookems homerism is so out of hand. I believe it was him who was on the jock of calhoun and the other 2 five-stars that ya'll had till they committed to OU then all of a sudden they wasn't good enough for UT(lol). I am a huge OU fan but I do not bash UT when things like this happen to them because it is a bad deal for the schools and the kids. Maybe hookem is just threatened by OUs national presence in rankings and recruiting, whereas i see it as a good thing to have 2 national powers battling it out every year bringing attention to the area and conference.

I love the longhorns.
I am big fan of the longhorns. But every year, as you say, I think it is great that 2 powerhouse schools battle it out for the south title, big 12 title & in the national title hunt on a regular basis.
It brings alot of great attention to the BIG 12 conference. I think the BIG 12 is on top this year as far as best conference in the country.
Texas has had it share of problems with players that last few years. So I cant really comment on other schools with their players fucking up.

Hey I didn't make it up. I just heard it somewhere. FWIW I don't like UT either. Hell I don't support any Texas college teams.

Based on how Stoops has handled most everything, I would say this kid will be off the team before he even really got on it, if he is found guilty. I missed it, but who got a medical redshirt after being arrested for a felony? Williams is the only one that I'm aware of that got a medical redshirt as a result of this past year. And I love how you still bring up Bomar. Yeah, it sucked winning a Big XII title that year without him...

It was a reference to Dvoracek.....
You know, the kid that beat his "Best friend" into a coma?
And how did that Big 12 Title work out for you?
I still say that ever since Big Game Bob's lil brother Mikie left the program, it's all been down hill. How many embarassing bowl losses is that in a row?
Didnt happen when M Stoops was around. Whether its losing to lesser tems, or getting their doors blown off, every year they seem to get dusted in their bowl.....its gotta be the coaching.
And speaking of Bomar, who could forget these gems?

What do you guys expect? These are uneducated "star athletes" who have full rides . Most of them are walked through college as well. Its all about money and these recruiters go to extreme lengths to baby these kids. In turn they expect they can do anything and get away with it. All D1 schools have had their fair share of them...get over it.

Kick Benson off for what? Kcik Ricky off for what? Ricky was a model student, as I recall. Now, I was drinking and using a lot at the time, so I could be wrong so, seriously...correct me if I am mistaken.

ricky was busted with weed and benson was arrested for kicking in a door for a tv he thought was there, yet no punishment was given to them

It's the whole thug thing in real life and with the invention of the internet everyone knows everyone's business. 20 years ago this shit wouldn't have left Norman. I don't think athletes in College are any different, in terms of percentages, than any other microcosm of society.
As I said in the other thread, OU will survive. USC will survive. UT will survive.
