I don't think the Mavs will be in the Playoffs this year. They don't want it bad enough. More specifically - JET and HOWARD don't want it enough. :rolleyes: Terry didn't even score in the second half. Howard's always putting up some lame jump shot miss, doing good if it even hits the rim. He's so slow in transition these days that the guy he's supposed to defend is on the other side of the court taking an uncontested 3-pt shot before he crosses the half court line. God that was a horrible game last night. Avery has lost control.

I never thought after a 67 win season and 1st seed we'd be looking at missing the playoffs. honestly who cares if we make it if we are going to be knocked out early. this team isnt going anywhere unless dirk has another level and howard can even make it back to being a decent starter at this point...

here is my biggest problem right now. over the last year i have become sick of our fuckface bean head coach avery johnson. every damn loss gets followed up with him saying "we settled for jump shots. we lost". it's a damn broken record at this point.

you're the damn head coach of a playoff team with the former mvp. either admit this team needs a BALLER or change your fucking style of play.

BALLER:
A person that can drive the ball into the paint and go directly at the basket either laying up or slamming.
We dont need someone that drives down near the rim to kick it out (kidd).
We dont need someone that drives down near the rim that doesnt intend to take the shot (terry).

having this type of player allows you to penetrate the paint and forces the other team to take all areas of the floor seriously. this ultimately frees up shooters and it's called having a nice offensive package. i know this is out of the question this year but you can change your style of play this year:

Syle of play:
The Mavs formula is old and every western conference team knows how to defend you, especially don nelson. This is why you are a terrible fucking coach. You have no damn plays that keeps the defense on their toes.

mavs offense runs one way. after your point guard dribbles up into an iso offense, you have him stand around the 3 point line. you have 3 shooters all spread out 15ft and beyond with NO movement beyond the ball. you have 1 big man that doesnt shoot well and doesnt establish any post presense. what the hell else can you do other than shoot the ball?

oh yea, you can run. since you are already a small team, you can try more plays with full court offense, play the full court defense (which will boost your defensive production by killing their shot clock and ). try the pick and roll in combination with off the ball movement and find the open man.

i will add the only thing positive things i have seen is is that dirk looks pissed and hungry. also that this team is doing decent against big teams with crap for contribution from terry and howard. if those 2 would start to add ANYTHING, it could translate to wins.
