Baseball is very boring to watch on t.v. The only time I enjoy it is when I go to the ballpark in arlington and even then I might watch 2 or 3 innings.

4 seats at 17 games, section 16 row 23. Getting the package saved $8 per ticket compared to "at the gate" prices ($42 vs $50) so in the end we saved over $540.

LOL. Maybe this will make up for it. We got 4 seats instead of 2 so that for every game we could round up a pair of hot whores and take them with us (and make them buy all the beer) :D Oh, and we only live 3 miles from the ballpark.

Baseball is such a fucking snoozefest. For your three hours in the sweltering heat, along with fifty bucks, your average game delivers two home runs, a half dozen pop-up flies, and if you're really lucky, a double play in the fifth. The Dot Race is the highlight of the evening. And the players are either overpaid, overhyped jerks or complete no-talent no-name nobodies.
Playing it is fine, I did it in high school. Watching it is the biggest beating fathomable.
It is fun to go with friends though. Gotta be free tickets and dollar hot dog night to get me to go. :D

You saved money...how much did you pay$ 2856 (4 seats x 17 games x $42 a ticket)....you saved money how about this I watch from home for free, don't pay for parking, and get beer for about a $1 a beer vs $5 or 8 or whatever it is at the ball park.

What's worse than 162 games (majority meaningless)
answer spring training games...
I will however attend 1-2 games a year, just for the atmosphere, but usually realize why I only attend those 1-2 games a year and thank God it was a free ticket.

It's really a game that takes true a appreciation to really enjoy.
Therefore, I would venture to say that we're on a higher plane of existence due to the fact that we understand, enjoy, and partake in the intracacies of the game.

Way to go! It's not like I didn't play the great game growing up either. I played 8 years. As Danny said, playing and watching: 2 very different things. I'm all up for going out and tossing the ol ball around but going to watch a bunch of steriod'd up pansies at a slow pace for 4 hours, paying 8 bucks for parking 6 dollars a beer, 4 dollars a hot dog, to sit in the hot sweltering texas heat...yeah.

Eh, personally that sounds like a shitton.
Then again, I don't pay for my season tickets. But also, food's really not that bad because every year, they give us 200 or 300 dollars worth of ballpark cash, so I don't pay for food out there either. Spoiled Ass Brats ftw!
And when did you stop playing? I don't think that even at 13 or 14 you can truly respect the game and understand it well enough. The 3 years I played in High School completely changed the way I look at the game.
But regardless, at this point we're at a difference of opinion...you just happen to be wrong :p

No we had 3 OFs and I played first. I, being one of 3 left handed hitters in our Little league, got pegged at just about every plate appearance. Game wasn't fun anymore so I switched to a game where I could hit back and played hockey. Shame you got turned down to play coach-pitch because your dad kept throwing at you.

It was probably how your wife felt everytime you managed to find your way home. A deflated, "here-we-go-again" routine, where I stand at the plate, get beaned in one of the first 2 pitches and walk to first. There was no joy in playing.
