I am looking for a pair of good jeans to ride in. Something like Joe Rocket jeans or Slidars Kevlar jeans. Do you guys have any suggestions. I also ran across this while looking for info on jeans: http://bohnarmor.com/catalog/proddetail.php?prod=BGLA
Do you guys have any suggestions?

Those look like leotards. Please tell me those are designed to be worn under your pants? If not, hell no.

LOL! They say they are made to go under your jeans. I found out about them reading this article.

why do you need jeans when you can just buy armor? Icon makes field armor that can be worn on the legs under your jeans, or over. Costs $65 (less on ebay). Wouldn't have a broken leg or rash if I would've had some at that time.

Draggin' Jeans are the better of the pants if you're actually looking to get protective pants.

While those would be helpful, what about the thighs and ass? I like the idea of the armored pant liners the thread starter posted, but I would want to see some in person before I bought them.
These are pretty popular for the upper body

...but I've never really heard of something popular that protects your entire lowerbody.

Luckily my levis held up when I went down, just a worn through back pocket. I'll try and find a link to it but someone on another forum went down in some Kevlar lined pants and they held up really well for the speed he went down at.

you can get some mesh pants for cheap to go over regular pants/jeans. they'll hold up a lot better and at least you can put hard armour in the knees and have a little bit of padding in the hips. kevlar will help against wear thru and road rash, but doesn't help with impact that brakes bones. if you are just commuting to work, jeans might be ok, but if you are going to ride hard/fast then you should invest in quality gear. pay now, or pay later. just an fyi.

most of the CE padding in my jacket is soft
how would any of this help avoid breaking bones?
I'm sure it would help in bruising , but it would seem like you need much more to keep from breaking bones IMO
Does any one really believe that helps?
BTW the sliders kevlar jeans/kakis are very comfortable and well priced - Highly suggested
