Well I bought a PS3 last week and have it setup to do audio using an optical out so I can utilize my 5.1 sorround system. The weird part is that I get audio when in the PS3 main menus, and get audio from BlueRay and downloaded videos, but when I go to play a game no audio. This happens on all games, both downloaded demos and games I bought.

I do get audio if i change the audio output to HDMI but that only outputs the audio to the built-in speakers on my LCD tv which are not the greatest. Any ideas?

Disregard, figured it out. Had the wrong settings under the optical audio output options.

BTW, playing Gran Turismo HD on sorround sound is awesome.

make sure you have the audio formats chosen correctly in the audio option screen. I use HDMI video, and do the digital optical out for my audio.
