Easiest way to transfer documents from one computer to another?

Bought another laptop, and I have a crap load of stuff that I want to transfer to my new computer. What's the easiest way to transfer everything over? Burn it to a disk, then load it? Is there a cord where I can just directly hook up one computer to the other?

Sorry for the stupid question, but I've never had to do this before.

I just use a network drive or flash drive. Easy.

Use the easy Wiz on XP and vista. Transfer via that way. Or bring the shit to me.
