Hey guys, well...last night my bike was stolen. it is an 07 suzuki GSXR-600. Its blue and black, license plate is 3LW452.
It was stolen last night at my apartments (Bellagio at Bent Tree) in North Dallas/Plano/East Carrollton Area. Near George Bush and the Tollway. There was an Oxford HD Chain on it, which is also missing..
Below are some pics of the bike..If anyone sees it let me know, i already filed a police report with Dallas PD. Hoping someone will spot it..but probably not. My guess is, it was stolen around 12am-7am. During the rain..
a few things to put it apart from the rest, it has a blue pin stripe on the rims, and has a blue front windscreen. The bike cover is missing as well..
If you see or hear anything, let me know by PM, or call me @ 469-939-2708. Thanks

I assume bikes are pretty easy to steal, why not bring it inside?
They can fit through the door, right?
Sorry, it was stolen. Hopefully you will get it back.

i wish it was that easy, but im on the 3rd floor. it was parked inbetween my bmw and my roomates SRT-4. the cover makes it look like some POS bike, but i guess not enough. now its time to look at getting a garage.

that sucks to hear David. I would definitely keep a bike in a garage as easy as they are to steal. I'll keep my eye out for it though

Actually the time to look at the garage comes BEFORE buying the bike ;)

true, i looked about a few weeks before. but none were avail until march at that time as well. so i bought a huge chain to make due until then. didn't realize it would be less than a month for it to get stolen. im guessing someone from my gym followed me home since i drove it to there last night, i haven't driven it too much due to the shitty/cold weather.

My advice is to lock it down inside the garage as well, I had a garage in an apartment complex and they tore it open to get inside, luckily a neighbor saw them and called the cops or my bike would be missing too. I just used a very large hook and drilled it into the stud and then ran my Kryptonite lock through it. They could still get it, but there working for my shit... it aint no freebie.

Thanks for the heads up man. i was also looking at one of those movement sensitive brake locks..i forgot the brand, but it moved while locked it will set off a 100db alarm. i figure that might help bring some attention..specially the echo in a garage.

Self storages are always for rent aren't they? ;)
I kept my bikes in a self storage for 3 1/2 years when I didn't have a garage with no problem.
Leave a bike unattended in the open in DFW and it's as good as gone.
We should have a sticky for tips to keep bikes from being stolen.
#1 - Never leave it outside at an apartment, NEVER!

I had a Xena that did that.
Lo-jack, simple kill switches, alarms etc.

right after my car was stolen my bike started sleeping in the house, not the garage.

Its really sad for you but I still after all this time have to wonder how many times do we have to say repeatedly...APARTMENT COMPLEXES and BIKES DO NOT MIX.
No matter how many times its been said...these threads keep coming up from people that are either too SMART for our advice who proclaim they have the latest and greatest chain, security device, padlock, tracking device, etc...people are still parking highly desirable sportbikes in apartment complex parking lots. Why dont you put a flashing neon sign above it that says COME STEAL ME. People just dont learn. DONT LEAVE SPORTBIKES in APARTMENT COMPLEX PARKING LOTS!!!!!

why the hell would you buy brand new bike if you live in an apt without a means of pulling it in or a garage? Thanks for making our insurance so much higher!! my bike is parked at my house, in the garage next to my car with an alarm and disc lock on it, and I'm still paranoid. I'll hear a noise and jump up and look in the garage. don't know how you fuckers at apts can sleep with your bike outside.
A bike in a parking lot, no matter what you put on it, is not safe. It will be stolen. if you're gonna put it out there, at least have the decency to live/sleep on it and save us yet another "stolen bike" thread.

Man that sucks! I got mine when I lived at the Camden Springs Apts right down the road from you. I always parked it in my apt just because of this reason!
That really sucks. I still live in the area, will DEFINITELY keep an eye out!

man that sucks. That is why I live in the country with two acres fenced front and back. I aslo have three big dogs in the yard. Anyone comes near the fence I know about. I have looked out the window more than once with my barretta in my hand to see cars turning around in the driveway. It just sucks that you can't feel safe about your stuff at your own home. good luck. hope you find the bike. Mine is only 6 months old and I can't imagine what I would feel if some punk stole it.

If there was anyone I would wish bad luck on one day it would be all these FUCKING THIEVES here in DALLAS.
I hope they get run over by some cager old lady!
It's pretty sad the state of affairs now.
You don't even have to own a bike long at an apartment. Some i've heard of are only a week or two before it's gone.

I'll keep an eye out for you while I'm out and about. But if he kicks my mirror off when I run his ass over you better replace it!
