And typically there are a ton of "experts" when it comes to motorcycles on here that could tell me the inns and outts of the busa.
I forgot if it aint the fastest track machine its crap.

If you generally ride straight up, take corners like a normal sane person and love bursts of super hyper speed and you prefer a slightly more relaxed riding position. Then the Busa is for you.
If you are more inclined to lean over and tear up some twisties or love track days and would not prefer to wrestle 500lbs through a chicane and still like straight bursts of super hyper speed then the sporty 1000s are for you.
The above with the exception of more corner speed, more forgiving torque and love straight bursts of super (not hyper) speed then the sport 600s are for you.
Sum it up?

yea, Im def the first one... not alot of twisties here local and I dont care to hit the track that much.
I just wanted it to cruise around on. I dont care for the look of the ZX14s the busas seem to have a smoother cleaner llook.

You should look for a used 99-03 CBR1100xx. Slimmer body, about the same weight, more comfortable, more refined, not hell bent on being the fastest all out machine but just VERY VERY fast. Kinda like a BMW M compared to a GTO. I've ridden Busa's, sat on ZX14's, and owned a CBR1100xx for 5 years and I prefer the CBR1100 overall.

GROSS!!
I guess
Owning one makes me a bit jaded, but I think it has a more refined look compared to the bug eyed front end of the busa and I really dont care for the hump and bumblebee ass end of the Busa. I think the ZX-14 is retarded looking with its Ferrari Testarossa grated side vents...WAAYYYYYYY overdone. And on what freeway in Dallas are you going to ever open up any of the three to reach top speed (unless you are absolutely begging to die). The CBR1100xx will quite easily reach 170 and is capable of considerably more. To each his own.
Not to mention you can pick up a clean 99-03 Fuel Injected CBR1100xx for under 5 grand...no carbs to fuck with like the Busa.

Busa doesn't have Carbs ;)
I liked the gas mileage and not many people will run them out to top speed on the street. Oh yeah and you got ABS, like a mini-goldwing :D

Early Busas were carbed Im pretty sure......not sure when they went EFI (early 97-98 Blackbirds were too). And the CBR1100xx does not have ABS brakes. Its LBS (linked brakes similar to the newer Goldwings). The front and rear brakes have 3 piston calipers....the outer two pistons apply with the use of the appropriate pedal or lever just like any other bike..if you apply the rear brake the middle piston applies on the front brakes and if you apply the front brake the middle piston applies on the rear. I wasnt sure how well I would like that feature but in real world use I have to admit this bike stops like no other bike I have ridden..EXTREMELY WELL and controlled and QUICKLY. The VFR800 and the Goldwing are the only Honda's I know of that have TRUE ABS brakes...which I personally wouldnt want. This bike isn't for everyone...its not a tarmac terror like the Busa and the ZX-14...but for everyday use it is VERY easy to live with and is comfortable as hell. I average 35-40mpg in city use and on the freeway I normally get around 55-60mpg. With a 6 gallon tank..thats around 275 miles per tank. The ONLY reason I chose this bike over the famed ZX11-D Ninja boiled down to fuel injection. I have had to do ZERO maintenance on this bike and have put close to 30k miles on it since I bought it. I don't regret even one second of the decision.

The Busa's have always been Injected. I agree from riding with you that it is fast enough (Killeen Ride :D ) and gets better mileage, I wish they would have cancelled the VFR and not the Blackbird.

Bro, the 08 CBR1000 is NICE looking. I love it!!! I won't have my mind made up until I see the 08s in the dealerships though. I went to Honda yesterday but, they still have the 07s, they won't get any 08s until end of March. But he was offering me a nice 07 for $9.5  hahahaha
In other words.......I'm getting a bike next month but I'm not sure if it will be a 2008 CBR1000RR or 08 GSX-R1000. But I'm also cheap too.........if they make me a killer deal on last year's Zuk.......I'll buy it.
What 1000 are you looking to get? Another Yami? It's time for a change for them. I'm getting tired of their look.

I'd like a new bike, but the broke-ass college kid in me cant bring myself to buy a new $12,000 bike to have it sell for $8000 a couple years later. I'd rather get something that already took that big hit (not literally). but i agree with the new technology, radial calipers, etc. wont make you faster than those CMRA expert guys on their 99 R6 ;)

hell! im on my second busa. this one is a 04 that i bought new and i wouldnt own anything but. well, maybe an 08 but thats out of my price ranger right now. id say they corner just fine, you just have to work a little harder at it. ive had gixxer's and zx-7r's and the busa is a far better bike for what it sounds like you are wanting to do. ive rode 400 miles in a day and was ready for more. about 250 miles was my limit on the gixxers and 7r's.
