Ok, i'm looking into getting one of these and i need some more info. Which one's (brands/models) are ya'll using, and is it going down quite a bit? I'm looking at getting one where the signal is pretty constant. I'm not going to use this as my primary, but pretty close to it. Any suggestions, and/or help is appreciated.

I have been rocking free air for the past few weeks. When the DN sat went down on Friday, we just pointed it to the Canada Nimq sat and got all the channels back. Gotta love the free french porn :)

I am using a viewstat VS2000 Ultra, been flawless

I use a Viewsat Ultra box. You gotta be careful not to get stuck looking at the cheap prices because they are clones out there. It's actually for sale. Im ugrading to an HD box. Its about 2 months old and one of the most supported boxes out there.

It's very easy to update. We've been getting hit about once a week right now since X-mas. But 95% of the time its up for the pay per view fights. I use a flash drive to update it and it takes me all of about a minute. It autorolls to new keys quickly as well.

$125 bucks for it with free support from me on it.

Thats a good price I paid 140.00 for my dish and receiver. I borrowed my cousins signal finder and that was it for me.

Search for them with Google online and buy from a Vegas or Midwest store. There's a place locally in Lewisville somewhere but I'm not sure of them quite yet.

Just bought my setup. I got a 31" dish with a CaptiveWorks 700s receiver. If this works out, I will bet getting an HD PVR unit in a few months. Can't wait to kick Comcast to the curb.

My friend in Austin has a viewsat ultra. He says that he is getting hit once a week right now. Are you out more often than that?

Do you have a USB port on your viewsat or do you have to connect via serial cable for the updates?

Im on a viewsat Ultra and I've been getting hit once a week it seems. If you put it on a motor you can pan to the canadian sat's and keep on cruising. Once your locked on 110/119 its not hard to find BEV for Canadian programming. They generally don't do down at the same times.

The box is for sale as Im about to buy my Sonicview HD with PVR that I've been wanting since I got into this about 6 months ago.

$125.00 gets it with free support. It's serial or flash drive updateable.

Do the codes come up fast for the Sonicview HD receiver?

They are generally up the same as my other files. Totalfta.com is the fastest most reliable site to have the files up.

That will work, but there are better options.

This is what I have (http://www.tvtoyz.com/lnbs/4-lnb_holder.htm) and it works well with standard LNB's. I actually have the exact dish you posted but I cut the end off, ditched the triple LNB's and replaced it with 4 separate units.

I used a Dish 500 from DN. I have a Pansat 2500 and a Pansat 6000. I haven't really used them in a year or so, not at all at the new house. I plan on putting it up atthe new house soon, if nothing else to just get the PPV's and such.

It's not worth the trouble to have it as a stand alone, I have always used it as an add on to my real service.

The last code bin 170 for the 6000 has been working for two weeks with no problems hopefully it's a sign that dish won't be scrambling the channels as often for a while.
