Anyone know if Wal-Mart has any external hd enclosures for notebook ide drives? I don't know if my hd gave out, or if the enclosure's adapter has given out, and i have no other hd to test it with.
If wal-mart has a bay, i'll buy it, and if it works, all is gravy. If not, i like the fact that their CS desk is retarded and doesn't hassle you like Fry's when you return something.

Not really, but i like the no-hassle return, and no restocking fee.

Thats nice and all, but a little bit over the $10 price range that i'm willing to spend for a 2.5' hd enclosure.

Yea i know. I was just hoping someone knew if walmart had one i could go buy and test, and if it ends up not being my problem, and i need to replace my drive, i could just return it.
I wouldn't care if the walmart one costs $30, because they're going to see it in their returned items the next day anyways. :)
But, i may say fuk it, and just upgrade to a 2.5 sata anyways. For that, i'd need a new enclosure.

So, instead of calling Wal-mart, the people who would know, you decided to waste your time on here?

HOLY FUCKING ROFL COPTER OF GORRILLA SHIT.
You honestly, think Grandma McElderly in electronics would have a fucking clue what ide, sata, portable, notebook, desktop, or external enclosure would mean??? Wow, you hold wal-martians to some pretty high standards.

I guess you're right. The days of a sales person actually knowing anything about their job has gone out the window. Customer service no longer exists thanks to the last few generations of morons that couldn't work a cash register wothout it telling them how much change to give. Then again, maybe you should give them a call. I bet someone in electronics knows more than you give them credit for.

Not only do i doubt it, but i just got back, and nope, they didn't have it. I was already out, so i went to Circuit City and Best Buy (just across the street from each other), and they didn't have it either. The guy at circuit city grabbed a 3.5 sata enclosure, after i told him i'm looking for a 2.5 ide notebook/laptop drive encloser, and the best buy saleswoman first looked at me like i was retarded, until i had to explain that it is the same thing as you're regular everyday desktop enclosure, but it is meant to support hard drives from laptops that are ide. She was following me until i said ide.
Looks like a fry's trip is in my near future.

I'm thinking you can handle the decision between the 2 or 3 choices that Wal-Mart MIGHT have.
