Upgradin the comp

I have a dell xps 400 I bought about 1.5 years ago. It has a Pentium D at 2.8g. 3G of memory and a geforce 8600GTS. Also I bought a badass power supply its 650watts with standalone clean power for two video cards. It is time to upgrade the MB and the CPU. Help me out to decide. I want something for gamming. Also if you know anything that would fit in the stock case or if it would be better to get a new tower also.

i dont know about gamming, but there are a few good gaming ones out there.

If your swapping out board and cpu I'd plan on a new case. If your going all out the 8800gt is a better choice vs the 8600.

I just went from a 7900 to an 8800 and its a very noticeable difference. Leave the dell alone and sell it off. Resuse the drives if you want I guess but then it will be harder to sell off a barebone dell.
