Anyone else wear these things?

I dont. Got the rundown from some dickbag who was shooting next to us not minding his own business.

When did it becomes end of the world when someone didnt use glasses to shoot?

I have before, but if im out on my own on some land I dont use them...

Id worry more at a range from some other douche's flying brass, but not when im out on some open land...

sometimes i do sometimes i dont. With my kimber i do since it likes to shoot brass at your face after a while once it gets nice and dirty.

I wear shooting glasses for the simple fact that I only shoot at a gun range and I've had brass either from my gun or someone else's nearby hit me in the face.

Always wear them indoors when shooting, wear sunglasses when im outside

my eyes mean more to me than the convenience of not wearing glasses

I have shot at an indoor range and caught a ricochet to the eyebrow, was a small piece of lead not the whole thing. I wear them every time.

I remember shooting Casper's Taurus Raging Bull and feeling bits of lead or something hitting me on the sides of my face every time I fired the damn thing.

On a side note, I would never suggest anything to anyone at a gun range. I do tend to mind my own business and as long as they are not doing anything unsafe I keep my mouth shut. I could give two shits about David's eye sight :D :p

I personally do not use glasses while shooting, unless I go to a range that:

1. Requires them
2. Has the stalls so small that the shells hit the side boards and come back at you.

I wear them whenever I shoot. It's not like it's a big deal. It doesn't get in the way. I like my eyesight. Hot brass on your eyeball doesn't sound like fun at all.

Everywhere Ive been requires them so I just use my old safety glasses from my old job, theyre small, and tinted so they dont get in the way. Look just like sunglasses.

I do. I still see people that don't use ear protection.
Only time I don't wear some type of eye protection is at home. :D

I find them annoying as shit. Still have perfect vision, could be lucky I guess.

I use them when at a range and sunglasses outside. I wear them because you are supposed to in a range and I need the sunglasses outside for the sun.

I wear eye protection generally, mostly because I'm generally shooting at a range. When I'm hunting, I don't. I scored a nice pair of sleek, Oakley style glasses with clear lenses, and they work for me and don't get in the way.

I always wear ear protection though because of my tinnitus.

I wear them. I might start wearing a helmet too! Last time I had to qualify at work a shell casing bounced off the beam above my head and landed on top of my skull. I think an edge hit first because I almost cried. It didn't help that it was cold out either! :D

That's why you are suppose to wear a baseball cap also.

My Glock ejects shells like a bullet out of the right side. I had one hit the side wall and bounce off hitting my cheek, damn did that ever hurt.

I never wear safety glasses, however I never shoot at a range.

I rarely wear eye protection, but I always wear ear protection. The one time I didn't - shooting a .44 Magnum for the first time - left me without most of my hearing for a good 12 hours.

I ALWAYS wear ears and eyes. It only takes one "oh shit" to ruin your sight, and we all know that shit don't grow back. Once it's gone, it's gone...

I shoot with too many rednecks. The only time I don't wear ear and eye protection is when I shoot with a bow. I understand what you guys are saying about the comfort level, but the only way I'd shoot without ear plugs is if I had a can.

for the hell of it i went and purchased a couple pairs of safety/shooting glasses

yellow
orange
clear

I understand the clear and sometimes when its hazy or the sun is setting/rising the yellow works for me....

but what the hell is the orange for????? They dont do much for me and I cant figure out how they are suppose to help.

Yale

Maybe the orange helps when punching paper indoors, i. e. under fluorescents?

Or maybe they just realize they can sell another 25-50% if they offer a third color.

Wylie X glasses are cool.

I never shoot pistol without eye protection.

I'd hunt with glasses if I could keep them from fogging up.

http://www.agape1.com/images/Orange.gif Orange is the most commonly used color for clay target shooting. Best for overcast to average sun conditions. Orange polarized lenses enhance orange targets and improve contrast, and are generally used for shooting against an open or uncluttered background.

http://www.agape1.com/images/Voilet.gif Violet lenses are most commonly used for shooting in average or bright sunlight. Best for orange targets against a green or cluttered background.

http://www.agape1.com/images/Red.gif Red polarized lenses are best in average or bright sunny conditions for orange, green or black targets, against green, cluttered or sky backgrounds.

http://www.agape1.com/images/Yellow.gif Yellow is used only in overcast, hazy or night conditions. Usually used with orange targets against varied backgrounds. Yellow is used by hunters in low light conditions (dawn or dusk).

http://www.agape1.com/images/Blue.gif Blue is commonly used in average sunlight for green targets only against a desert background.
Green is used for green targets in bright sunlight against any background

http://www.agape1.com/images/Green.gif Green is used for green targets in bright sunlight against any background

http://www.agape1.com/images/Brown%20A.gif Brown is an all-purpose lens used in bright sunny situations. Best against bright open backgrounds.

http://www.agape1.com/images/Gray%20C.gif Gray is a general-purpose lens used in bright sunlight. Gray will not enhance any target colors.

Personally, I wear my regular polarized sunglasses if I'm shooting outside and clear lenses if I'm shooting inside.

I dont mind them when Im shooting my hand gun but when I took my pss to the range all they had to borrow were some scratched up pos glasses and i could not see shit in the scope with them on so I took them off and never put them back on!

At the range, I have taken more brass to the face than I care to remember. Mostly from my own shots but I won't take the chance if I ever shoot outdoors for fun.

Ive had plenty of brass fall down the back of my shirt. ONly damages thus far.

Plus burns on my arms from laying in hot brass.

Worth the $10 to buy your own rather than borrowing whatever the range has.

And I'm sure you shoot at a pistol range alot

My wife actually has a small scar on her cheek from a piece of brass that went over the top of her glasses and got stuck between the bottom of her glasses and her cheek. Probably wouldn't have happened if she had been shooting something larger than a .22.
