xbox 360 crapped out??

anyone know why my xbox 360 locks up sometimes?? the screen will just freeze and you can do nothing but get up and turn it off. i thought it was a specific game but its now doing it to other ones also. :(

it does it afer being on for like 30secs. so it doesnt feel hot. :confused: its only 1yr old.

have to agree... the overall power of the PS3 is far superb but we are about 3 or 4 years away from outgrowing the power of the 2 year (i think??) old technology of the 360... kinda over kill... plus PS3 has like 2 games worth getting for its platform only...

I've had both since launch and it's pretty hard to argue with it from a gaming/multiplayer aspect.

Media < PS3 - - Gaming < 360. Maybe one day when I'm 58 years old and GT finally comes out and Sony develops a competitve online gameplay system, i'll change my mind on that.

Just my $.02 though.

By the way, anybody that wants NFL Tour for PS3, I'll sell it to you for $20. It's been played once. Perfect condition, case, manuals and etc.

We've got both as well.

Both have their pros & cons.

I play both of them frequently, & I couldn't say I would lean more towards only 1 system. There are quite a few great games I've played for the ps3, the 360 has been out for a lot longer so they've had a lot more time to both have more games out, as well as fix their bs problems. I've had the ps3 since last year august my wife bought it for my birthday. I've only had 1 problem & that was surfing dfwstangs forums trying to do a forum jump it has gotten stuck & frozen a few times there.


The xbox 360 we've had for just about going on 2-3 months & I've actually have had about 3 different problems with it. Minimal problems...& it's one of the newer systems...Go figure.

The ps3 has MANY multiple uses. We just really just use the 360 for gaming, ocassionally a movie since It's in the living room.

Call Xbox and ask them to send you a box for service. We just had to do it too. Our Xbox was 3 weeks out of warranty so it cost us $100 bucks, but it renewed the warranty for another year. They sent us a refurbished one in about 3 weeks turn around time.

Well, I'm in the same boat. I'm on my second box, and it has started to beep and lock up. I got the 3 red lights last night, but was able to re-seat the power connector and keep playing for a bit.

Oh, so you think that once Sony's online setup is where they want it to be (IE, their HOME migration) it'll be free?

Have you compared the PS3 online arcade to the 360's arcade?

The video on demand?

The list goes on.

It's as simple as marketing; PS3 came out much later than 360, but XBL has had a firm following for nearly 5 years while Sony hasn't show much interest in the online gaming since the launch of the PS3.

It wouldn't make sense charging even more on top of the ~$500+ average it took just to acquire the system/games. They had to offer it for free, just like they did (smartly) with deciding to make it a blu-ray player as well.

Long story short; it won't always be free. I would guess by the end of '08, you'll start seeing tiered charges for it, depending on how far their HOME plans come along and how much activity they get from other game releases.
