thank you, his is a 650, i know next to nothing about bikes, never heard of a gsxr 650.

My car ran 8.0's with ancient heads and a hyd cam, new brodix heads and solid cam, i should be able to hang with that thing. It would scare the hell outa him if he only pulled me by a fender, lmao. i dont think he can ride a street bike at all

You sure its not a SV650?

There is no such animal as a "new" GSXR 650. You won't come close running 8.x anything.

And an SV650 will not get out of it's own way in a straight line. Badass bike for backroads though..

Good riders have gone mid/higher 6's on a stocker. Even a bad rider should have 8.0s covered after some seat time.

If you 60' well and spray you can beat an inexperienced rider, however, 8.0's can be beaten in a wheelie.

Man, this guy swears it is a gsxr 650, his friend, also in my office, also a jackass got a SV1000.
he says "its a bike that demands respect"
what a fucken smart ass statement.
I do like the dual exhaust, where it come out on both side, thats cool
How are sv1000s?

I cant find shit about a gsxr 650. did they make a gsx 650? cant find anything on those either, if there is such a bike, how are they?

Edit, i guess its a gsx650F

Are only GSXR's considered gixxers? or is a GSX a Gixxer too? im assuming the R is "racing"? lol i know nothing

and just for the record. i ride an 06 sv650s and i know its a turd. its a great bike otherwise! i have thought many times about selling it, but im hooked on it. ill probably keep it and get a bigger v-twin like an rc51. the sv line and this 650F are all pretty much the same. lame ass bikes for going fast in a straight line, but i was throughly impressed with my bike with in twisties in arkansas last summer. when i was pushing myself and the bike i was right there with everyone else. they would some times run off in the straights but otherwise it was a pretty respectable bike. easy to ride and very forgiving.

give your boy a few weeks maybe a month and he will realize what he has. its slow and isnt really good for anything in the city.

"Gixxer" is how the GSXR owners generally pronounce their bikes.

The GSX650F is such a dull bike I completely forgot it existed LOL.

I shouldn't pass judgement on them, I've never been around one. I'm not one of the "get a literbike or nothing BRAH" kind of guys. I think the SV650 is the perfect first timer bike. The GSX might not be so bad.

If you've updated your combo I would imagine you've got him covered if you 60' well.

they don't make a gsxr650. There is however a gsx650f which is a lower power 485lb replacement for the katana. but, it just came out for '08 and there wasn't one in '06. it also has more upright ergos, and isn't a supersport class bike. 650 doesn't mean it has more power than a 600, which is what a lot of people think when they come in and see the Ninja 650 and then the Ninja ZX-6R. So, he bought an entry level bike.

My 06 GSXR1000 weighs a hundred pounds less.

And, as far as the banana seat goes, yuck!

man, how funny. he thinks that thing is the shit. I mean its cool he got a bike he likes, but hes just so cocky about it.
I would love to wax that mother fucker, in my 3400 lb car. looks like i need to bring my stickies to lubbock

even the katana will go high 7's when ridden properly. You have to understand that it makes around 80 to 90 hp and weights what, 500 lbs wet, 700 tops with rider. do the math compared to your 3400lb car. your car would have to make almost 400 hp to be the same ratio. If he weighs 150 lbs it is even worse for you.

I ran 8.10 with my old combo. dynoed at 325.4 to the rear tires. That was a mild hyd. cam, and old double hump heads. Im looking to gain 50-75 hp with my new brodix heads, and a nice solid cam. Sooo, it should be a close ass race if i can hook on a clean concrete street.

and you said properly ridden, he is a pretty novice driver. should make for a good race

You will wax him. If he is dumb enough to think that bike is something special then he probably can't ride.

if a newer gsxr 600 is running a low 7, there's no way in hell a heavy ass carbed Kat 600 or 750 will run near that. A kat doesn't put down that much power either.

I would think you should win a 1/8 race against him. The first two passes on my 750 gsxr (I was very newbish riding it- sig check. ) I only ran 8.0s at 104.

I think the opposite would be true. this gsxf is basically the same as the sv650s that i ride. only difference is about 13 hp and its a i4 instead of a vtwin like mine. i would be willing to bet that it will fall on its face up top just like the sv. i could be wrong tho...
