Today I was shopping around at First Monday when I ran into a fella selling NOS guitars. He had a huge collection of acoustics that included a 1955 Gibson. He also had a wide range of Martins that were NOS and used.
All of a sudden I had a GAS attack. I ended up with this brand new Martin Custom. Looks like a D-15. I think Guitar Center advertises them as the "Custom D Mahogany" He was selling it for $200 under street price.
Here are a few pictures I took:

Here it is keeping company with my Jag, Dot, and left strung Bullet. I'll have to find a home for my Breedlove Passport D20 to help pay for the Martin.

If you can remember and don't mind, where is this booth located at in First Monday. I live only 12 miles from there and work in Canton, but I generally don't go to First Monday. Most of the crap I see is overprice.

Here is a map of the flea market.
The guy I bought it from is in Pavillion 4500 near the upper right hand corner of the map. He between the middle of the Pavillion and the North end. If you're facing north, he'll be on your left hand side..
He should be there tomorrow.

Thats for the info. Being he is in a Pavillion, they will problably be back next month. I am looking for an acoustic with a neck with an old Gibson profile. Like a baseball bat. As I get older, those fat necks feel better.

Well he had a '55 Gibson acoustic. But it sold just before I bought the Martin. The guy who bought it was about 65 to 70 years old. Said it was something like his 5th Gibson. I got a good grin as he tried and tried to talk the dealer down from his $1500 asking price. However in the end, the guy ended up paying that $1500.
I'm sure he'll have more next month.

A man's gotta start somewhere. Besides, there's a Fender Jag there too.

Some of the old bullets where US made, others where Japan. Some better hardware and they are kicking guitars. Much better than the newer Squiers. My two fave guitars right now are both "partscastors" , but I would put them up against anything Fender makes now.
nothin wrong with an epiphone man!!!!
well, except for that gold hardware.

Yea, I don't like it either. But it was damn cheap and it sounds fantastic. Semi-hollows are flat out awesome.
It'll do me just fine until I'm good enough to justify laying two large on an ES-335 or DG-335... or better yet a Trini Lopez :D

I'm in the market right now as well and cant decide wtf i want. I'm used to vintage guitars but they are asking a arm and a leg for them now. Its either the new ri 65 stang or the 62 american vintage jag. Juust cant decide. I need a new amp as well so this is a main factor. Live with my old pos or get a nice nos tube amp.

I bought a couple more Hercules wall mounts and threw the squire and breedlove up on the wall. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to sell the Breedlove or not. I guess I could use it for going to lessons so I don't risk doing something stupid to the Martin.
The squire is still strung for lefty play. I'm going to keep practicing that way every once in a while. I figure it would be a nice way to show off ;)
My "man room" / home office is coming along nicely. Just gotta put the new floors in and paint it.
