I need a portable navi unit that I can stick on my windshield. What's a good brand that does not cost a arm and leg. I know nothing about them at all..

I have the Alpine Blackbird, and I'm pretty happy with it so far(had it about a year). There are cheaper units out there though. Might look at the Tom Tom, or something like that.

Yeah, that may hinder his view if he sticks it to his windshield.

I have a Mio DigiWalker C320 (from Radio shack). They go on sale regularly. I got mine for $149.00. They work alright. Make sure the maps can be upgraded easily. Some cannot and with all of the construction around here the units can give directions that are far from optimal at times.

i love my garmin. pretty much anything will be fine as long as they are updatable as stated. all the technology in the less than $200 price range is gonna be pretty much the same. best unit is gon be the new blackbird but i think they are about $600

I like my gen 2 Blackbird. I had a couple of the first ones and they had some issues. I don't know that it would be my first choice if I didn't have an Alpine head unit to dock it in, though. It's big and has poor battery life outside the head unit.
