Last time I shot it I bought some crap ammo and it jammed up several times. It's consistant with Winchester brand. I just don't know what load to buy.

To watch it spin and spew?

If that's what you're going for, then get a bunch of cheap rattle cans of paint, put them close to one another, and shoot with shotgun. Now that's some cool abstract art.

I think he was being a smart-ass, suggesting that this should have been posted in the Armory forum.. (Where it is now, think it was started in the Back Porch though).

Propane tanks are only good if you put them BEHIND a camp fire and shoot them..... If you put them in front of the fire, it will extinguish the fire (too much gas, not enough oxygen...)... Trust me I know hehe.

That's a first. Shotguns are usually a little sloppy so they don't have that problem.

I've never had a shotgun that wouldn't eat shells like a fat girl eats cake...

I have a winchester 1300 defender for a house gun. It's a pig eats anything i put in it... Maybe your issue is an operator problem? Short strokin the slide? I hear some people have that problem.
Could be genetics....

The FN TPS is a excellent shotgun it has an internal tactical choke that keeps a very tight pattern even past 30 yards. It really makes an impact on what ever it hits because its not all spread out.It has very smoothe action and its very quick with a lot of coll features. Its also the best looking Shotgun IMO.

I have the same gun. Model 1300, and it shoot what ever 12 gauge shell I stick in it.

same here.. my Defender eats a steady diet of the cheap bricks of wal-mart ammo. i'd love to get my hands on a few of these.. probably really expensive though...

Try cleaning the thing! My 1300 defender chambers anything thrown at it.... So does my 1300 field gun.....
The pump shotgun is still around because it is not nearly as fickle as the auto loaders for failing to chamber a slightly out of round (i.e. stepped on) round, or one that has a little wax or water (water fowl hunting) if it isn't ejecting the spent shell, you are short stroking it, if it isn't chambering the round get a single shot preferrably in 28 gauge or .410... You may not have the nuts needed to use a pump action shotgun.

Not sure i agree with you 100%, i have an 870 probably put 2-3k shells in the last three years through it and just the other day i had to pick up a box from walmart and the lip on the shot shell would hang in my ejector to the point i had to take off the barrel each time.

Slugs aren't as entertaining as you would think. Buckshot is more fun, but just target loads are the cheapest/most fun.

Cheap ass Winchester Dove load is $35 per case at Wal-Mart damn near year round. Beyond that, I'm a fan of 9anduh-half shot for easily maimed targets and squirrels, and copper plated #4 for appliance perforation.
