Negative, it's the infamous "Schmeisser" or "burp gun" by the allies.

mp40 was used by the germans, grease gun was an american weapon.
It was made as a cheap alternative to the thompson, shot alot slower, and was also much cheaper to produce. If i remember right, it had interchangable barrels to use different ammo

if im not mistaken, didn't Schmeisser actually have nothing to do with the designing of the MP-40

Correct, he did however have involvement in development of the MP41, which is a wood stock version of the Mp40 essentially.

What is the difference between the MG42/34 and the G3 that is currently used by several european countries, I shot one in Portugal when we cross trained with them.... 1100 rpm off a tripod pushed me back like a foot every time I tried to pull a 3-5 round burst... from the pics 66 posted up they look a lot alike, and they told us it was a WWII design.

The MG34 is a finely machined gun, while the MG42 is stamped. They both use the same loading and firing methods. The MG42 is just a lot simpler thatn the 34. Also has a much quicker barrel change and higher rate of fire.
The MG3 is essentially the MG42 of WW2. Just different caliber, better parts, and slower rate of fire. Still in use today.

I know I was lugging a -60e3 and pretty good at pulling 3-5 round bursts, same with the SAW M-249, and it has a 1100 rpm cyclic rate... that G3 I couldn't pull less than 8-10 on it, It kicked like a mule too.....

Yeah, on my 60 I can get good consistant 3 round bursts. The 42 runs way to fast for me to keep up with that good. Usually, it's 4-6 rnd bursts.
