Looking for a Muzzle Loader for my dad.
He had a Cabela's kit that wasn't that great.
We have 50cal ball, 209 primers, and Pyrodex.

Knight's or Remington any good?

Basically, an extra fun firearm for the range, maybe working into a Hunter if he gets good with it. Has to be quality, reliable, not gimmicky.

I have an 1853 Enfield and a 1861 Springfield. They're fun to shoot.

But probably not what you're looking for. :D

I have an older Knight, composite stock, scope, 50 cal. It's not the one that shoots shotgun primers, but old style caps instead. I use 2 pyrodex pellets and sabot bullets. It's accurate to 100 yards. I have many friends that jumped to the disc guns when Knight came out with it and swear accuracy to 150 yards plus. I haven't looked at them in years, so I'm only guessing they have gotten even better. I have not been disappointed with the quality of the gun. Hope that helps.

We are open on primers, but are they all easy to find?

I guess the rules on muzzle loader rifle does not encompass all types of these.

Need to get up on lingo.
