Well, I just moved into the new house and scheduled the DirecTV and Internet guys to come out yesterday to hook them up. BOTH companies offered a 1-5pm window. I thought that would be convenient to get them both knocked out in one shot, so I skipped half a day from work and got to the house by 1pm. The internet guy got there at 3:30pm and was done in less than an hour. The DirecTV guy called at 2:00pm saying it'd be 4:30pm before he could make it. THEN called again at 4:30pm to say it'd be 6:00pm before he'd arrive. He showed up at 6:30PM and wasn't done until 10:30!!! I was pissed! He was a nice guy and I felt for him having to work so late, but he was in NO HURRY! But, at the end of the very long day, everything's on, so I guess that's good.

At least he called instead of CS calling you.

He was a nice guy so I didn't wanna be a dick about it, but when all was said and done, I had some tech in my house until 10:30pm on a week night when that shit shoulda been done by 7 or 8pm at the latest... and to think I was hoping I'd catch the Mavs game! LOL!

Did you get the HD DVR setup?

I did. When I upgraded to HD about a year ago, I couldn't convince myself to pay the $299 they wanted, so I just got an HD receiver for $99 and kept my standard def dvr. When I moved, I decided to consolidate, especially since they dropped the price $100 now. It still cost me $237 total, but I've been wanting to do it anyways. I think I'm gonna hang onto the HD receiver, upgrade my bedroom tv and use it in there.

Their "On Demand" feature is kind of a monkeyed-up affair, but it does work after a fashion. We've had DirecTV now for about a year, and I have liked their service and offerings just fine.
