Im looking to buy a new rifle for some fun, I really like the look of the ak but the ammo seems to cost a lot. whats a good rifle thats fun and cheap to shoot?

7.62x39 is the cheapest to shoot other than .22lr

If you want a gun that uses cheap Ammo buy an AK-74 (NOT AK-47) in 5.45x39 this a very powerful and cheap round Rifles are more money though 650-850 depending on receiver and importer most are Bulgarian rifles excellent quality.
5.45x39 Ammo at "Aimsurplus" 1,080rds for 110 bucks. You will have one of the nicest built AK's and have more fun.
Cheap .223 wolf 250.00 for 1,000rds
7.62x39 (AK-47) wolf 215.00 for 1,000rds
